New U Joints today.

Next few weeks I am going to take the timing chain cover off to replace the gasket and crank seal. Since I am there I am going to replace the timing chain and sprockets.

Love this build man. Real motivation to everybody on this forum.

I normally wouldn't say this but a black roof rack would look stellar on this rig. Just my opinion though.(not a surco rack either )

Thanks. I am shopping for one now. I am going to get one in the next few months, throw the spare up there along with the jack. I think it will look bad *** and be functional all at the same time.

Timing chain, sprockets, and crankshaft seal today.

You can see the chain stretch after 165,000 miles. They chains are even on the other end. I was able to do this without removing the radiator, water pump, or t-stat housing.

Replaced distributor, rotor, coil, and plug wires. No more cam shaft or crank shaft position senor code. I forgot to get a pic of the distributor cap, but the center post from the coil was completely rusted. I am guessing this was causing an interment spark which threw the code because the cam shaft sensor is in the distributor. The plug wire pictured is the wire from the coil to the distributor.

Been neglecting the Jeep lately. Santa Claus did bring a new winch. $299 HF special. We will see how long it lasts. New battery also.

Mounted a Craigslist special roof basket this weekend. Not sure I like the quality. I may order this one this summer: http://www.quadratec.com/products/12138_300_07.htm

I also fabricated a cheap winch mount license plate mount. 4, 1 1/4" conduit clamps, 4 bolts, 4 nuts, and 4 zip ties. The clamps hold it well enough but the zip ties are some added insurance. I figure if I use the winch twice in 6 months that would be a lot. Easy enough to cut the zip ties and remove the license plate.

Drove the beach today from Sabine Pass, Texas to Hi Island, Texas and saw this plane flying really low. Took some pics on the Boliver Ferry headed home.

Spare tire mounted on roof basket with home made bracket. Jack moved to outside of roof basket to center the spare.

Finally got time to wire up the LED bars on the roof basket. Plenty of light now. No problems with being able to see while backing up.

Looking great! I bet this XJ runs great with all the work you've done to the motor. Wish you live up here, Wheeling in these mountains is a blast.

Thanks. It is a pretty smooth running Jeep. One day I am going to make a road trip to the mountains for some fun.
