GOLIATH WJ project
WELCOME TO GOLIATH WJ PROJECT
Few weeks ago I picked up a red jeep grand cherokee WJ laredo.
Unfortunately I can't find any photo how the jeep looked like when I picked it up, but it was a typical laredo wj.
At the shop we started to striping it down. Jeep had regular dana 30 on the front and dana 35 on the rear, because it is 4.0 inline 6. We took the axles out and made some room for dana 30 and 44a from overland WJ with quadra-drive ( hydraulic lockers ).
Also we test fitted some bushwacker flares and mock up the snorkel.
* Engine was blown, so we sold it to Titan engines in Ocala and made some money
Now it's time to beef up the axles a little bit. We are working on the trusses and diff covers for dana 30 and 44a.

During the last few day I did some progress on the build
Spare tire area delete and shortening the gas tank skid plate. Now gas tank is sitting 6" higher than it was before. Nice upgrade to gain some ground clearence. Will post some more pictures when I get everything welded together and painted.
Front axle received new coil buckets. Now start to build some long arms for the front.
I also painted whole undercarriage with some undercarriage paint with sound deadening additive.

Out of curiosity, where did the axles come from and what did they run you? I don't have room (or inclination ) to go so far as you look to be going with this, but I'm keen to swap axles to flip my qt2 into a qd2. I'm new to all is and got no clue what I've got myself into.

QT is basically open differential. Quadra drive is a " locker ", but you won't put any other locker into it. You can buy them on the junk yard for dirt cheap and this is a nice upgrade.
I will make my rear axle to ba a 90% locker. The upgrades for dana 44a are pretty limited. People don't know what this axles can.

Haven't posted in a while, but I have some update for you guys!
Rear axle is welded, sand blasted, and primered, so it won't rust.
Front axle is trussed as well. Just don't have the photo. It's still sand blasting, and will pick it up next week.
Trusses came out really well, and I'm super happy!
I also gave some love to the old 4.0L, and rebuilt it. ( I don't have single photo from the rebuilt... Was busy to finish it as soon as possible, and totally forget about photos. Don't blame me )
Upgraded to 4 hole injectors. Basically everything is brand new or rebuilt / refreshed. I also had some throttle body spacer lying arround, so I installed it as well, because why not...
