Beautiful cherokee. I've always loved finding government optioned vehicles and looking through all of the extra options. Such a good looking set up. I hope more people see your build and try to achieve the same result...I love a muddy beat up xj, but this is so visually pleasing to look at. Keep it up!

Well, I think my next addition will be an LSD in the rear and a locker up front. Looking at the Eaton E locker and TrueTrac LSD. Any thoughts?

Money isn't an issue (relatively speaking). Practicality is. Nothing I do would require 2 lockers and the LSD would be nice on the ever so wet pavement Oregon always has.

What rear end do you have? The 8.25 only has an OX, ARB, and Detroit as full case lockers. I would do a lunchbox front and selectable rear if it sees a lot if street time.

Well, in my opinion, it is junk and I wouldn't personally put the money into it, but I doubt you'll have a problem on 31's.

If you're just doing FS roads I would only do one locker... Two is over kill and you probably won't be in a situation when you need both axles locked.

I've been back and forth so many times on this myself... have you tried going to the junkyard and looking under a 97+ for a 8.25? You may be able to find one with LSD already in it. Would probably only put you out a couple hundred bucks and it's a direct swap.

To the best of my knowledge the the 8.25 was never offered with ABS which would be a problem for me.

8.25's never had ABS under an XJ. I dont know if they had LSD's or not, i dont believe so, if they did they were super rare.

Nice pic on the unibody page on FB!

Nope they did come with a LSD. And not to rare, they came with just about every upcountry package. My 8.25 has it and the best way to find one is look in the glove box, there will be a sticker stating the vehicle has one.
