First Car
Hey everyone!
Im 16 in highschool, and worked/parents helped me pay for my first car.
As soon as i got it home, being the impulsive 16 year old i am, started looking into modifying it.
After a few months of researching, and a few more of saving up funds, my dad said i could go ahead and order some parts.
Within two weeks, i had a rc 4.5" lift with full leafs, a raptor liner kit, and 32" cooper discoverer stt mounted on eagle alloy 185s sitting in my garage.
(im not sure how to put pictures into my post, but they should be in chronological order in an attachement.)
i couldnt stand waiting for a time where my dad had free time to help me out, so i became "sick" one day, and used the time off from school to get started.
I started by peeling off the rubber guards on the rocker panels, and spent the next hour with a heat gun peeling the adhesive off.
After that was done, my dad and i removed the bumpers, fender flares, and airdam. I sanded all the small parts while my dad used a palm sander and sanded the rocker panels. (80 grit to 220 grit).
After a few hours of prep work, we sprayed everything with U-Pol raptor liner. It went on very easily.
Now on a roll, my dad and i pulled the cherokee into the garage and started on the lift.
The rear went on fairly easily, the leafs needed a little manhanding to fit, and i was relieved to not have any bolts break off on us.
After the rear, my dad started on the front while i did the transfer case drop. I finished up the t case drop, but my dad was stopped by a torx screw we didnt have. By now it was nearly midnight and we both had to be up early in the morning.
A few days later (after having to drive the grandparents car to school) we finished up the front.
I took it to my schools auto shop (the teacher is a close friend of my dad's) and he aligned it for me. He asked me how i had even driven it there, seeing that it was 7 degrees out of line!
that is all that has happened up to now. Im not sure what the future plans are for it, but i am extremely content.
