Try replacing crank sensor...$12 on ebay, fixed my long crank, and dying while drivng at 55 mph issue...drivers side towards top of bell housing

if ud scroll up a few post ud see a big picture of it when i replaced it a few weeks ago, didnt help the issues but made it run smoother.

I wouldnt use a $12 ebay crank sensor... i got it from napa


the long crank is from the bad fuel check valve, i could out an inline one in but im gonna get a new pump cause i think thats whats causeing the stalling at idle whenhot then not starting for awhile

I did read through a majority of the build, I must have overlooked it. Sometimes cherokeeforum pics don't show up on my phone, and I used to work for advance auto, I called up a friend who still works there, had him cross reference the number, and it matched up with their Borg warner part, saved myself $48+. I will say I am a tad jealous at all you have done...I am still several months away from starting. Great build man.. i just got a 96 a couple weeks ago and im pretty much following in your same foot steps...ive been fixing alll the bad stuff and im ordering the 4.5 rc lift this week..just got a set of s10 springs to build the rear... good luck and im gonna follow this one!

thanks for the comments and I'm glad people are finding what I've posted useful.

I just ordered a carter fuel pump kit (bosch pump), wix fuel filter and injector o-rings, $89 shipped from rockauto.

I'm gonna take apart the rail and tank, clean everything, put new pump in and flush the lines\rail just in case theres any leftover crap.

Hopefully that will fix my stalling then not starting problems and if not, well I'll have a nice new fuel pump and clean system.

Im going to be starting a stroker build. My roommate drove 20 miles with a blown radiator hose in HER zj so i'm putting another engine in and keeping the blown block to build up.

Replaced my fuel pump yesterday. Now instead of sounding all loud whiny and crunchy it sounds like a smooth jet engine. It doesn't take forever to start and seems to have more power, hopefully it fixes the stalling issue though which is why I replaced it. Oh and it leaked around the seal when the tank was full.

Heres some pics, look at the size of the new pump! I know its got to be able to push more fuel which will be good for my stroker.

Theyre being pushed by the head for now, which does surprisingly well,, new wires back(yes theyre small so what...) I ran audio cables for theyre own amp eventually too. Luckily my head unit has sub, front and rear 5v pre outs.

I have both tweets in and the crossovers are hidden behind the rear panels above the fender wells. It already sounds better than the crap 5 1/4's I had back theyre which blew.

the woofers will go in the hatch and the mids id like to make a custom mount for them under where the tweets are, in the corner of the rear window. Im not really sure how to do that though, for a good look I guess make a custom framed box thing that fits in that corner, stretch fabric and fiberglass... hah wonder when thatll get done, I'll prolly zip tie the mids up for now or something else ghetto lol ^_^

I got an itch to attack my fenders with a sawzaw, they came out ok I think, will be better when I get the rubber molding around the edge. Where do I get that stuff anyway?

I was gonna work on running some of my led lights but I went and got a bottle of vodka now I dont feel like going back out lol. Oh well I made progess and everyday im trying to do at least something small to my jeep. In a few years it MIGHT actually look decent hah...

Uhm, a local wholesale supplier, Eugene Service Parts (ESP) Theyre nothing special and were like $15 each, I dont expect them to last long.

NEW RADIATOR! My ORIGINAL COPPER radiator blew up on one of the last warm days of summer. So I got a new one from AZ and converted to open system. GOOD BYE PRESSURE BOTTLE!

Got the trim around headlight and blacked it all out.

Ripped out vinyl floor and have started to bed line it

Uhm, maintenance and probably some other things.

I'll get pics of exhaust, radiator and int bedline soon, also really want to make my custom inline cone air filter cowl intake I have designed and finish the on board air.

New steering box
 

Got my new steering box put in today. Old one wasn't leaking really but was just very worn out and couldn't be tightened anymore. With the tires in the air and steering locked I could move the wheels over an inch, steering was all sloppy and notchy too. Flushed PS fluid OFC.

I always planned on going Durango box but they were $100 more remaned with 100$ more deposit and I heard conflicting reports on losing some steering so went against it for the time being.

Put in a JCR spacer too and not very happy with the quality as the spacers were poorly lined up and welded making the 4th bolt hole not line up so I had to drill it some.

I want to do this all at once: Rear shoes, bearings, take out some leafs and put in lift shackles for more flex and better shackle angle and put shims in to help pinion angle.

Hmm time for the yearly update lol. Have been super busy, done some good car builds over the summer, just got a house in town again too moving back to civilization next week, on the downside no mud pit 5 min down the road anymore.

Welp I have not done anything on my to do list above. It is that muddy time of the year again though so time to get into gear, in fact its poured alllll day, mud holes filling up.

I do however have in a box waiting to be done, rear bearings, brakes, diff seal, lift shackles, u bolts and some shims. Going to soften up the rear by taking out some leafs and put a bit of a pinion angle since I have the t case drop to help with vibes.

Also getting a really nice set of 31" wrangler m/t's for $180 in a few days, the big horns have exceeded there use.

I have had my front drive shaft out for the summer cause vibes. Time to rebuild that. I ordered 3 moog super strength greasable u joints for the front and 2 for the rear shafts.

Where to get "centering ball" ? What else will I need?

Holy crap its been so long since an update on here.

Honestly not much to the Jeep, I did get rough county x flex upper and lower adj control arms cause mine broke at the threaded part going over big rock.

Ended up with firestone discovery 31" at's for $200

Still have cracked windshield lol

Still haven't rebuilt the front driveshaft, it squeaks now when it warms up.

Many bmws.... Building engines, cars, money is spread accordingly lol. Jeeps gets to sit in the corner mostly unless its towing one of my boats or quads.

Almost 270,000 miles, beating it on the dunes and still running.

Seriously though its having a hard time starting, loss of oil pressure, smoking, louder knocking.... Have another long block sitting here waiting to be bored and made into a 4.7 stroker with KB pistons... and another AW4 trans with 100,000 less miles than mine, will rebuild the valve body, new solenoids and a shift kit.
