My son and I have learned and have had much fun together with our 3 XJs.
Great plan, but I would put the $350+ for the Adj UCA and LCA towards long arms. Our one XJ with long arms rides sooo much better that the short adj U+LCAs. You're over halfway towards a set of RC long arms which include skid plates. We originally were going to do 3" lift and that is how the adj arms came about, and with added weight and wheeling, we raised to 4.5" and wish we had long arms. So now I will have to spring for the full $ amount for the long arms. Live and learn.
Have fun building.
Plus RC sucks *** and will never be on any of my Jeeps.

I believe we have a blown head gasket. Because:
-white smoke from exhaust(a lot)
-bad idle after it runs a little bit
-rapidly disappearing oil
-wont reach operating temp
I'm going to drain the oil this weekend or next weekend to see if it's milky.

I have been searching for a sunroof now for almost 2 years. Today, my search ended thanks to Yellaklein(Kyle). Best upgrade ever at only $25.

Last weekend xjclassicxj(Damien) helped me swap the transfer case out and put the new one with an SYE in. Took about 3 hours including a ride to the store for fluid and a fluid pump.
Drives perfect now and has 4x4. Only problem now is that I left the linkage off because I have a simple linkage to install.
The jeep also ran perfect last weekend too. The oil isnt milky either. Maybe the head gasket isnt blow and it's just mad that we're letting it sit.

We finally have tags! Brought it home today.
Still to do before I drive it much:
-tune up
-oil change
-degree shims
-fix drivers door

Today was successful despite the 25 degree temperature with snow and moderate winds.
Replaced: -cap & rotor -spark plugs -spark plug wires -thermostat(was running at 160)
Everything went well and this is the most work I've done to any of my jeeps alone. I usually have someone helping me.
Here's one of the old spark plugs:
Also drove it to work and back last tuesday when it snowed 8". Did great I just had to manually shift the TC because I don't have the simple linkage yet. Had jiffy lube change the oil to get the seafoam and oldddd oil out of there that morning so i could drive it. Found out I need to clean my NSS too.

Things have been going slow because of college taking up most of my time. Bought a new NSS after noticing I had no overdrive. Now I need a new TPS because I have random rpm increases and decreases.
My brother has borrowed the jeep for the past week and will continue to for at least another week. His girlfriend's car broke a timing chain and her valves bent.
Today my dad and I bought a TPS, transmission pan gasket, trans filter, RTV black, Felpro valve cover gasket, and some paint. I have diff fluid and gaskets waiting for install. Unfortunately I don't know when I'll have it back to work on it

The jeep wouldn't start on Tuesday afternoon and we had it towed home. Tested the CPS which I suspected as well as some helpful members here, and it was bad. Replaced that and all is well.
Replaced the TPS and valve cover gasket as well. I'm extremely happy with how clean the top of the engine is.

The Jeep has been to 3 shops now to have to door hinge repaired. Finally it has been done by an auto body shop on the cheap. It is so nice to finally be able to take it places without being embarrassed by entering/exiting through the passenger door.
This afternoon I spent some time on it: new fluid and red paint for the front diff, removed bumper end caps, removed flares, and cut the front bumper some along with the bottom of the front fenders.
No pictures because my iphone 4 is a POS and has a broken camera.
