Destination XJ: The build
So After a good 4 month search I found a 91 Cherokee Limited.
It has 142k on the clock, In pretty good condition in and out.
I have plans but Im sure they will change as they go.
1. New rims and tires
2. Front and Rear Bumpers with a winch in front
3.Skid Plates
4. Rock Sliders
5. Roof Rack and Lights
Those are what I have in my plans, the order is 100% tho. I do have to change out the AAL for Full Packs in spring.
This is the list of what he said was on it and wrong with it.
Sky Jacker mile high lift kit (no lifting blocks) sky jacker control arms, shocks ,steering stabilizers, and drops
NEW - parts are gas tank ,pump, filter ,reg ,all 4 wheel bearings, back brakes drum to cyl ,front pads are newer ,steering box and lines, batt, valve cover gasket, coil, wires, cap ,air filter, newer water pump ,belt , all newer heavy duty u joints ,super duty in front axle , newer cat back exhaust ,synthetic oil in axles, trans and gear box ,5 wheel spare tire holder off the back,
The BAD - drivers power mirrors dosn't work AC condenser leaks, power pass power seat needs switch, rides rough.
Question
Does the super duty (u joints?) in front axle make it bind in a turn with 4wheel engaged?
Also The maintenance light is on in the dash can someone explain it please? Its there a box that needs replaced under the dash or removed to get rid of it?
Here are some pics-

Alright!! Congrats man, I remember you said you were looking forever!
Great find! Optioned out, AND all those new parts, AND a swing out tire carrier. You = lucky ****.
And fyi - that "Maintenance Light" is an emissions control light. Its on a timer and goes off at 82,500 miles to indicate the 02 sensor needs to be replaced. It can either be re-set, or part of the factory protocol is to just unplug it, no joke.
Welcome to the madness!

Yeah, it had the rocker and floor replaced about two years ago and they still look good. Was cleaned and undercoated too. Gotta clean it up and get some good light pics!
