A walk through my XJ history (obligatory way I start all my "builds") lol
Another build thread! Xj number 7 in the last 5 years, jeep number 10 or so..Ive lost count at this point. Ive made quite a bit of profit in the last couple years buying/selling... Lets recap:
2009-10ish I bought this thing (88 XJ bone stock)

Kept it for a year or so, painted it, swapped in a D44, gay lift, etc. Sold it looking like this:

Went and picked up this right before the 88 sold:

Threw a RE 4.5" lift and some JK wheels/tires on it. This is what it looked like before i traded it for a toyota:

Gay toyota:

Sold the toyota, bought a 00 XJ that was fairly abused:

Spent lots of money on it and ended with this:

Traded the silver XJ for a pretty lame TJ:

Sold the TJ and made a couple grand, ended up buying this 2 door:

Lowered the 2 door about 3" leaving it at 3" of lift and put on some 33s, sold it like this to pay for my wedding:

Went about 2 months with no Jeep, ended up buying a WJ, didnt do anything to it other than clean it, cut the bumpers and put some slightly bigger MTRs on it:

Traded the 99WJ for this 91 YJ:

Wheeled the YJ until its near death encounter, pictured here:

Got it home, cleaned out the tank, new plugs, fluids, and threw some KM2s on it..at this point I had sold the hard top, full doors, and only had 1800 dollars in the YJ, traded it even for this 99XJ:

Kept the pearl 99 for about 2 months..somehow sold it for 5k cash..profit of 3200 dollars off the YJ, ended up buying this bone stock..paid just under 2500 for it:

Thing was immaculate, put a good deal of work into it after a couple months it looked like this:

Had about 4500 in it at that point...traded it even for this 99 4.0 ax15 TJ in immaculate condition:

Kept it a couple months, sold it for 7k..so a profit of 2500 off the green XJ.
Ended up picking up this 2000 Patriot Blue 2000 for a bit more than I should have payed.. 140k, 6" RC elcheapo lift..35s. Wedled rear end..flexplate knock like a boss...

After DDing it for a couple months I concluded I hated it. Welded axle sucked, the jeep needed a lot of TLC that I wasnt willing to put into it..sold it and broke even on it..so ended up in good shape.
Which brings us to 1/20/2015...XJ #8:

Had been searching C-list for a several weeks looking for a nice stock 97-01 (really looking for a 99) XJ. All the ones that were even a reasonable price were either well beaten...or were just disgustingly dirty/mistreated.
After a good bit of searching I came across an add for a 00 XJ...no picutres, virtually on the jeep...just a brief description and a number. Texted dude...sent pictures of it..and I became intrigued. Met up with him, made a low ball offer...was told he wanted to wait and see if he could sell it.. Left it at that for a few days..got a call back from him and he said if I had the cash he sell it to me for my offer.
So here we are.
2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport.
4.0 AW4 D30/8.25
Np231
BONE stock
Gorgeous Silverstone Paint
All Black interior
230k on the body...receipet for 3200 dollars (outrageous I know) for a full engine overhaul 30k ago.
Immaculate condition:

Has a couple small dings in random spots on the body, small dent in the bottom of the door as seen on the passenger side (which ill pull out this week)...
No interior shots yet as I am midway through a detail...but will be up probably tomorrow..
Now...taking bets on how long i can keep this one

Ordered a few of the initial goodies today:
4.5" Rubicon Express coils. Rubicon Express double sheer chromoly track bar, Rubicon Express boomerang shackle, and leafs.
Eventually im going to pickup either Fox 2.0 Emulsion shocks, or if I cna swing the cost get teh 2.0 remote reservoir shocks up front with non reservoir shocks in the back.
I also plan on picking up the Rough country (**** me I know) Shackle relocation hangers...I want bolt on jsut for simplicity where I dont have to cut anything out..plus they are afforadable at $120
Not sure ill be able to afford long arms right off the bat but if I do ill be buying B. Lee 3 link setup..exactly what I ran on my first silver XJ. If I have to stay with shorites then ill just buy the B. Lee adjustable lowers for the time being.
Also keeping an eye out for some BW flat flares and may even slap a roof rack on the ole girl...very different from my last few builds.

I appreciate the confidence lol
Thanks dude, Aside from the faded bumper caps and trim it is very clean. Can't wait to get started with it. I have a thing for silver.

You kill me.
Please please please build this thing and hold on to it. AOP March 14th, or the Crawl at Harlan on July 4th.
Afraid of cutting? Sounds like you're building it to be able to sell it. HDO standard relo brackets are $100 shipped and support Hobag.

Decided to go ahead and take care of the faded trim yesterday since we reached 60*
Came out very nice despite it being fairly windy...

Ill see if I can get a better picture this afternoon, was fairly dark when I finished up:

And...incase anyone was wondering...this is the spray im using (Flat Black):
