I also did the rear quarter panel cut-n-fold. I started following the plans on this site:

http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/pages.php?pageid=12

But, I ended up cutting it a bit different and had to change things up a bit. Measure twice, cut once. I then used sheet metal screws to tack it all together. Once of these days I'll get around to painting on some bedliner...

I've been running Hella 500 driving lights for a while now, and I really like them. I have them mounted in the stock fog light mounting holes, and pointed dead ahead. Having a focused pair of spots helps a lot when driving forest roads at night, and they are a big improvement over just the stock headlights. I plan on adding a couple more and pointing them a bit to the sides so that I can see better around bends in the road.

I did sheet metal screw on the Cut n Fold as well. I think AJ's were the easiest instructions to follow

Nice build. I'm going to go the same route with mine. I don't really do a lot of hard core off road but some of the fishing places I go have some nice trails getting there. Did you end up doing the XJ/XJ springs in the rear?

Would a cut and fold like that expose the wheels so much that you would need to have mud flaps by law? I heard there was a law like that but I don't know where which states the law is in place at.

Each state is different. so its hard to tell. For example. Here in Wyoming.....nobody cares. In Utah, you need full fender flare coverage. In Texas, you need Flaps.

I'm in Los Angeles, California so I'd assume nobody cares here either since there is no weather apart from the rare case of rain that would require flaps or anything. I'll just look up the laws and see

I've been eyeing roof baskets for a few months now. There is definitely one in my future at some point, and it will probably be about the time I get some larger tires so I can move the spare up to the roof. I'm not thrilled about the idea of a giant spare in the cargo area or a swing away bumper mount...

I ended up just doing the full length add-a-leafs since it was more cost effective as well as less labor intensive than the XJ/XJ pack. The local pick-n-pull wanted an arm and a leg for used leafs, and the hassle of dealing with rusted bolts twice just wasn't worth it for me.

Check out this site: http://www.liftlaws.com/

It has pretty much everything you need to know about the legal regulations regarding lifts, fenders, lights, tires, wheels, etc.
