I heard polishing your aluminum with brasso helps you mall crawl better. I hope so because those nasty speed bumps really suck with groceries in the back.

Meanwhile I got my front stiffeners in. They go on next weekend along with a rebuild of the rear LSD and the unbending of that damned front axle.

Mmmm Stiffeners, I got the front to back setup waiting to be welded on. Oooo a thought you and your buddy might want to think about doing if you haven't already put Chromoly in the rear for the 8.8, Might be worth it to do the C-Clip eliminator with Chromoly axles and some crush sleeve eliminators as well
. I just bought some and they look amazing! Can't wait to put them on and have stock width to throw back in my xj.

Got a lot done this weekend.
First got front stiffeners put in. Front is finally nice and clean looking...sort of

Then moved right into unbending my axle. This was a task...let me tell you. My buddy had an axle stand he had made for welding on truss's etc. We chained it down and used a jack to apply a crap ton of pressure to bend her back. Finding the proper preload to compensate for the spring back it gave us was a fun process of measurements and fractions and whole lot of prayer.

And yes all of the heat was needed and all we had were a bunch of propane bottles an a bottle of MAP gas. Go us! (shut up it worked..)

But hey, at the end of the day we had a perfectly straight axle and I could finally say goodbye to extreme tire ware.
Still had to rebuild my rear limited slip. Of course whats a project without resistance. Right out of the gate, the cross pin retaining bolt decided to do something else for the weekend.
Luckily the Ford rebuild kit came with one.

Also...if you are thinking about replacing your windshield. Just do it. It took for me to return from a wheeling trip with a friend last weekend to find a huge crack and impact spot on mine. The new one is simply beautiful, I can see again!

I didn't take mine, but my buddies did great. Yeah the intent of the video was a quick highlight for the group of friends we went with. It wasn't supposed to be anything major.

I went to an East Coast Offroad Racing Series race over the past weekend to film. It was quite the experience. I made this quick video of a UTV race team I was hanging with all weekend. This a quick prerun of the short course they would be racing the next day. I was sitting codriver in the video and I was hanging for dear life lol. They are incredible fast.
I took my jeep out on the long and short course a few times at race speedish. I deffinitnely definitely felt the volvo locker and LSD do work. It was a great feeling. Never had an issue on any hill climbs.

My buddy and I will be racing in June. Race jeep is nearing completion.

I think those sliders are great! I wonder though if it would be a good idea to sheet them so that you don't get hung up on a boulder? Those look solid. And thanks for all the great videos, I can't wait to do my 8.8 swap, time and money are holding me back.
