Build "Third Time Charm" 93XJ
this is my 3rd xj.I am the 3rd owner. It's a 1993. must be lucky #3
got it for $1000 and was 2 years behind on reg. said he non opt it. nope. $225 in back fees. and $160 to tow it to the shop.
In the PO's driveway
threw out the nasty torn up headliner
put on the black wheels. transferred title and registered. pulled the bumper knocked off the rust and ready for black trim

thanks man I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to it too
ok I went on my first parts run today and it was actually pretty exciting. J&W auto wreckers. jeeps only. made it out with a door hinge and other stuff $45
drove it home! first time on the freeway in 2 years. runs and drives incredibly
I could barely feel the transmission shifting. good power and runs quiet and steady. no rumbles clunks or weird vibrations. alignment is perfect.
only complaint was an odd odor when I hammered down on the freeway. but I attributed that to the fact that it hasnt ran in a long time. hope it goes away
oh and the squealing bearing stopped making noise. so thats cool haha
today I fixed the door, turn signal, bezil. put on the bumper and center caps.
before and after bumper paint and sticker removal and temp reg
much better
and you can see the oxidation here. its really bad on the hood and roof of course. gonna be a fun paint job. still can decide on color
and I'm out of money. I'm in it $1410.00 so far I think.
anyway I parked it in the driveway instead of garage so I can strike fear in the hearts of my peaceful quiet-loving suburanhood neighbors
they know whats coming
smog next. wish me lucky..

not really sure. I'm hoping its the old oil and grime getting cleaned out of the pipes when it gets a little hot
but it's only when I accelerate.. so It might be a fuel leak of some sort.
I dont know. I'll have to diagnose it within the week. it'll be my first leak find-n-fix

unfortunately nothing yet. been insanely busy moving the shop this past week
here's what I've been up to. for anyone whos interested
this is the old place out in west sac
I think 5000sq ft. which is much too big
took the old porches one by one
this is the spray booth being torn out
and here's the new place. half the size. less rent and less than a mile from home. no more 60 mile commute
I'll have time and money again when I get back from san diego after next week

I drove it around and introduced it to 2 of my friends (girls) who are fans of my xj destruction
and were excited to see my newest addition
I'm thinking the smell was coolant. and my heater core is most likely clogged
