[QUOTE=donhoagie;1325198]If you had only posted the final product of this XJ, and told us you bought it from an aftermarket tuner as a $30,000 specialty vehicle, I'd bet that half of us wouldn't have doubted you. That's how well-done this Jeep is.QUOTE]
i dont think anyone would beleive 30k. thats outlandish for any xj. but agreed very nice build like i stated in my previous post.

You guys are all builders instead of buyers, so I know what you mean... but I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to see affluent high schoolers plopping down $30k for it.
Never seen a specialty vehicle sell for less than that... if you don't ever go under the hood, there's a premium to pay that's more expected than questioned... needs to cost that much to maintain exclusivity. At least, that's my experience in the world of sports car tuners.

Cage work was a little over $2k (alot I know, but this is a keeper), I think the sliders were about $275 from Kevin's Offroad don't remember for sure, they were one of my first purchases after I got the XJ.

They're actually 265's and they're KM-2's, not MTR's. They measure out at 32 inches. I had looked at so many different tires, I guess I forgot what I had.
They did rub the flares a little but I was able to trim them a little to get by. Finally I did some harder wheeling and tore one of them off so now I've trimmed the fenders in prep for larger tires next time.
I'm actually sitting at about 4-1/2" lift now. It's a 3.5" lift with a .75 spacer in front and longer shackles in back. Probably could use a longer bumpstop and not have to trim anything.

That was a typo. By the time I noticed it, I couldn't change it.

Thanks for the info! I'm building up a 97 right now and scored a set of moab wheels with new 245/75 MTRs. I'm planning on lifting 3.5, and upping tire size to 265/75 when these wear out. I want to keep the flares no matter what, so was just wondering how much your tires rubbed on that size lift. I don't mind trimming the bumper caps and moving the flares up a bit. So the 265s rubbed at 4.5? Means my 245s will probably rub at 3.5.
