Anything special I should know before ripping into this hog? I do know that my last head stud won't come all the way out. I also know that my front driver bolt needs thread sealant. Any other tribal knowledge would be great to know.

There is a really good video on YouTube but I'm on my phone so you'll have to excuse me on the link.. Search it up and see what you come up with on YouTube

got a lil update.. Havent really done to much with the 2000. I have everything off the engine except the intake and headers. while taking everything off, i noticed that the bock was cracked on the water pump housing.. so now im looking for a new block.. On a good note.. i got my ol 89 back

Once i find a block im just going to swap everything over and have a brandy new motor considering that i have a new head now. Im not positive that my old head is still good. should be a fun adventure!

Who would recommend a weld repair opposed to a new block and rebuild? 162K if I remember right. And no known prior rebuilds. I have a new head for it and gasket set.

Mod. Can you change the name of this build thread to "Patience Pays Off" ?? considering that nobody really cares about a bought not built jeep, also considering that that doesn't even make sense anymore. THANKS!

Both jeeps are nice! Hey question do you have any pics of how the mudflaps are attached to your 89 I really dig it, thinking of something like that for mine.
