Quote: wow way to fix it up! our stupit unibodys get total so easy

but i heard on another thread you did zj seats or something
Thank you. This one escaped the wreck without too much damage. Yes you read right, I have ZJ front seats in mine now. I love the change. They're much more comfortable. They sit just a little different, higher I think it was, but I'm used to it now. All I did was just take out the seats and swap the brackets over. It was easy.

When I got my 3 home, I had to set them next to the Jeep and see how it's gonna look, so of course I took a pic. My rims came from a local JY for $25 a piece.

Just got around to getting the pics on my computer. I don't have any pics of the in process. Just pics of them installed and some of why I did the swap. The metal on the base of my original seat broke so I did the swap. You can see the broken metal in the one pic. Those holes in the base are where the brackets bolt to. All you do is swap the brackets over and put in the new Grand Cherokee seats. The sad thing is, my Cherokee has 120000 miles on it and my seats were dirtier than the ones out of the Grand that had about 215,000 miles.

Well a couple of weeks ago, I finished installing my Rough Country long arm upgade kit. While I had it tore apart, I changed from a 3" lift spring to a 4.5" lift. The ride is much better. Next step is to change to some bigger shocks so my flex isn't as limited anymore.

I also got my 4th tire. I got the wheels polished and everything bolted up. I even cleaned it up, which is why it's still wet in the pics. Now it's time to take it out on the trail and test everything out.

Thank you JerseyJeeper, XJ711, and truckntractorhick. Wait till I do my rear bumper. That'll be later this year/early next year. I had to adjust my toe and couldn't get my factory tie rod to turn. I was afraid I was gonna bend it, so I replaced it with new parts. I got a new Grand Cherokee tie rod set up bolted in there now. After I finished, I had to do a little flexing in my front yard on the storm shelter to see how things worked. In my first picture, I had zero clearance issues with the front. Also, if you notice, my driver's side rear tire is off the ground by about 6". The second shows the clearance on the rear when pulled up there. Now when I backed up on it, the story was not so good. The front tire hit both the front and back of the inner fender, but I've already got a box of hockey pucks waiting to fix that. Now I just need some longer shocks and a shackle relocation box and this thing should flex out some more.

Thank you. I took it out to Turkey Bay on Thurs. and had some fun. We didn't get too many pics, but I did find a big rock to pull up on. My rear pass. tire is in a mud hole putting that side even lower. I'm amazed at how the front suspension looks like it barely flexing. Also, I know it's not a flattering photo of me, but the Jeep looks good. For a little perspective, I'm 6' 3" and standing on the ground which is level with the bottom of the rock. It sucked trying to get back in my Jeep. I ended up having to climb on my rear tire to get back in.

Yes that's a 1989 Grand Wagoneer you spied. I figured somebody would spot it. It has the 360, auto, Dana 44's front and rear, with the front being a disconnect style axle, but the motor is messed up. Unfortunately, it's been sitting for a couple of years now. I'm not real sure what happened with the motor. It started smoking and missing really bad. I found the offending cylinder, but it had good compression when the motor was cold. I wasn't brave enough to try sticking my hand in that very confined space when the manifolds were nice and hot. After the motor messed up, my dad wrecked his Cherokee and decided he didn't want to fix it and offered it to me. I had a decision to make then, fix the motor on the Waggie or re-build the Cherokee. I guess you know now what I chose. Anyway, my brother is wanting to re-build the Waggie now. He's looking into getting the motor fixed vs. swapping in a Chevy V8 and auto tranny with OD.
