I tried flexing it a little in the front yard.
It immediately became apparent that I can now stuff the rear tires.
Tires, installed by the PO, are Goodrich 33x12.5 AT on the stock rims. On the level, there is very little clearance between the tire sidewalls and leaf springs.
But very little is enough since it can't go anywhere right? Actually the clearance does disappear when you flex it some. I am going to get some spacers for the rears and do some trimming of the rear fenders.

You want to make sure you cut and fold the lower portion of the quarter where your rubbing. If you just cut it, the inner and outer quarter will separate.

I have been trying to figure out how many cuts I need to make. I have seen pictures with cuts every 1" or so. It looks to me line 3 cuts on the whole back edge should do it.

I'm definitely going to cut and fold the whole back edge. I'm pretty sure I will be on the bump stops before rubbing on the top or front edges.

It isn't wheeling season and won't be for months so I have time.
I have just ordered some 1" spacers to get some inside clearance.

Could this really be a lca mount as built by jeep?
Or is my jeep the beneficiary of some kind of "upgrade".

I would upgrade to a mid/ long arm setup with good axle mounts and a sturdy xmember

Long arms would bypass those brackets and require them to be cut off anyway.

Hi, I just came across this build thread. I can say for certain that that LCA mount is not stock and looks frail. They peeled back a layer of the 'frame rail' and welded it to the side of the bracket.

At this point, I'm planning on installing CA drops. I'll give a little extra attention to making sure they get attached securely with a little weld.

Anyway, these remain a must do upgrade.
My 4.5" RC leafs have now settled to 4.5" and they work. Can't say the same for the front coils....
I don't think it make sense to run stock shackles with lift springs because they are too short to flex right.
Shackle clearance issues will be dependent on your shackle, your spring, and which hole you want to run. Make sure they can move freely over the full range and clearance where necessary. Any trimming will be on the bottom edge and I don't see strength issues.

Those bumpers are sold as a pair on Ebay, I have a set on my XJ, they llok good and work well when winched on (been pulled out several times via the D ring anchor points, worked great), they seem pretty stout.
