Wish I had the time for a nice project like this.
Because I know for a fact a 283 will handle 7 to 9 grand all day long. I've never seen a 350 or 327 do that unless its nascar built and I dont have that much bread.

yep been wanting to do this for awhile. I guess thats where the name came from just the bare esst. I want to sand blast the entire XJ prime and paint (I have no Idea on what color yet) any suggestions. A buddy of mine in Lou, KY is going to wire everything up for me. Like I said motor, winch and a few lights thats it.

Looking forward to this one...

Don't hesitate to ask any questions. I didn't tear mine down but the only part I haven't touched is the hood...

I think he was saying you're doing what he plans on doing - only for him it's a long term project...

Yea that's what I meant, sorry for bad grammer, lol

Been thinking of taking everthing out that's not needed to get rid of a bunch of useless wires, etc.. and throw a 350 small block in her, etc..

Sounds like a great project and excited to see it come together or apart, lol

FYI for both of you - my XJ currently runs and I only have 1 ignition switch, one starter switch and one alternator light - which you need...so you really can get by with next to nothing on the inside!

EDIT: It's obviously not street legal that way...
