That's from the factory. It's supposed to be there for emissions and i think helps heat the engine up. Aftermarket non oem models don't have the crunch.

Well here she is with fresh steering and track bar.
I cut the valance off and the flare ends off.
Not best but neither is my jeep.
Next will be full fluid and filter change, all filters on it.
Btw, is there not any PCV valves anywhere on it?
Then compression check and ignition replacement.
Then rear shocks and bump stops need to be replaced.
Theeeeen.... exhaust.

Well I decided to see if the terrain capability had improved any with the light modifying I've performed.
There was this one place on our first, initial ride where the suspension maxed out before I replaced anything.
This is full flex in previous form.
Was in 2wd and actually quit pulling as well.
Notice that the body is not level.
These are from this morning.
In this picture, the pass side has a little over an inch of shock stem left, vehicle is more level.
Rear axle wasn't forced to flex and maintained traction in 2wd.
In these, pass. Side coil is collapsed and shock is compressed fully.
Driver side shock is fully expanded.
I have a 6.5" RCX lift, and some 33x13.50 superswamper LTB's...
My plan is to use Rusty's offroad springs and Rubicon express track bar with bracket and brace to optimize a 4.5 to 5" lift system.
Going to trim n fold fenders & cut n fold rear quarters, also going to install shackle relocations.... prob HD offroad no lifts.
This will be later down the road after I think it's ready for some real upgrades.
This gave me a slight idea of where I need to go with the suspension.
Then I spent the rest of my morning trying to unstick the old junker.... attempt failed

Well it was recovered the next day.
Took alot of work, don't have any recovery points yet.
Had to dig the axles and tank out with a shovel, lifted it with a jack and put 4x4 wood blocks under the tires.
Been flooding around here the past few days, haven't put in any work on the Heep.
Ordered some parts though.
Have on the way:
Thermostat
T-Stat housing gasket
Radiator cap
Oil fill cap
Manifold to pipe gasket
02 sensor
Flowtech Muffler
Stock style bumpstops front/rear.
Boostwerks transfercase linkage.
Set of lug nuts for some TJ wheels i have.

Slowly making progress.
Have replaced the clutch with a complete LUK Rep set and trans mount.
Replaced the brake lines with rubber YJ brake lines for 4" lifted suspension.
Had to replace hard lines on rear axle.
Installed shackle relocators and rear shocks with BPE's.
Shocks are greatly limiting down travel but I'm running a stock slip yoke drive shaft so I'll leave it be for now.
Installed boostwerks T-case linkage after painting everything including entire stock shifter assembly.
Dropped old exhaust section off with new muffler to be replicated.
Once it is finished I can finish up and test drive it.
Next will be the comp. Test, ignition tune up, pass. Axle u-joint and new brakes at each wheel so I can put the e-brake cables in and cooling system refresh.
Then comes the structural body work/ rust repair :-/
Forgot to add that I changed oil and filter.
Also installed new oil pressure sender, coolant temp sender, 02 sensor, oil fill cap and radiator cap.
Make good oil pressure, runs cold for the most part.
Runs alot better with the 02 sensor.
Top of engine is starting to dry up a good bit with the new fill cap.

Also bought some superlift 550 TJ 4" lift coils.
Rubicon express 1660 track bar, 1665 track bar bracket and am waiting on my 1670 bracket brace/ frame tie in bracket.
Short Add-a-leaf.
Upper control arms.
Not sure at what point, but these parts will be put on with a slip yoke eliminator and will measure for shock length.
Possibly will need different brake hoses by then.
Also lcoated an 8.8 with 4.10's so that will be part of the lift project as well as complete front axle rebuild and re gear.
I'd like to have all the repair crap done before I start that though.

I guess im just ready to get it more offroad cable so I've been busting through the repair part with good steam.
Going to have to make some good side $$$ money for a winch and bumper though, that will probably be the biggest chunk of money I've spent on it yet.
