While the MJ is waiting it's turn on the operating table, I have to finish the ZJ up first.

So last night, father in law came over, helped me take the hood off & drop the motor in & attach it to the transmission. Before we concluded for the night, of course we had to put the hood back on.

Tonight I ll have to hook up the motor mounts back on, re-mount the power steering pump & AC. If there's time. I ll hook up all the connections.

Hopefully tomorrow will be the oil fill up, and finalizing everything. I still need to make battery cables.

Supposed to go away for camping Saturday-Monday but since it's gonna rain heavy over there we might cancel... then I would have more time to work on the ZJ.

On other note, I snapped the rear driveshaft on the XJ, luckily it happened when I was turning into my street, so I shifted into 4L and let the jeep creep up the street slowly. I didn't have the tools to unbolt the driveshaft (SYE) so it was slowly whipping the asphalt on the way. Ha.

Once it arrived home, I removed the driveshaft and left it in 4H so I still can drive it around temporarily.

Upon closer inspection. The pinion yoke in rear axle is damaged. I ll have to replace that. I also noticed that the SYE yoke has some play. So it looks like I also need to replace the output bearing on the tailhousing along with seal.

**** like this never ends. Ugh.

Set the engine on the motor mounts, bolted the AC & PS pump back on, connected some more wiring.

Made up a set of my ZJ battery cables.

The alternator ground was split from the main block ground so I decided to cut the main portion off (where the cutters are at) while keeping the split intact, that way when I bolt the old ground back on the coil on the block along with the new block ground cable, the alternator still can be grounded.

Still struggling to get it started. It's pissing me off. Lol

Yesterday I replaced the crank sensor because the ohm test told me it wasn't within acceptable range. Still to no avail.

Tested the ignition coil and it tested out good BUT provided weak orange spark so I guess that one probably should be replaced too.

Research says that ZJ usually have an alarm system that overrides the pcm and prevents it from starting so I tried all kinds of ways to disable it... locking and unlocking with the key fob, manually locking and unlocking with the key on every door. Grounding the purple with yellow tracer wire, etc.

I also made sure to index the dizzy as per tip 12 & 13. Wtf.

I don't usually call out for help but cmon people. Any experience with the ZJ platform? Anything else I'm missing out?
