Hi CF from Australia
A while back, I posted a thread asking what the best mods for an XJ tourer would be.
It's a 99 XJ 4.0L Auto Sport with front Dana 30 and rear Dana 35
It's taken a while, but I've finally started the build. Im going for a tough XJ that'll be good for me to learn in (I've wheeled my dad's JK a fair bit but im still a new driver, 17 years old). Whilst capable, it also has to be reliable and simple, so no 6.5" long arm with one ton axles and 40's, as cool as that sounds.
Already done:
I've gone with 2" extended shackles and 2" coil spacers on top of the current 2.5" Old Man Emu heavy duty lift we put on 2 years ago. I also installed some JKS quicker disconnects and have a spartan rear auto locker on order from the states.
To do:
Im going to get some Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlars, probably in a 32x11.5r15.
Im also ordering a Runva 9500lb winch, aussie company, we have the 12000lb on the JK and it works well, the 9500 is about $580 which is hella cheap for australia.
Lastly going to get a snorkel, probably off eBay. You can't get very far in winter in Aus without a snorkel
How it sat in 2010 before the 2.5" lift (hence "sagged ***")

How it currently sits after the 4.5" lift

Dad testing the flex

Spacers, shackles and disconnects

Just put in an order for a Runva 11xp winch.

A bit more than I originally planned but I think it'll be worth it
