okay lets see...

i have 2 88 xjs and was tryin to sell one but with the way the economy is its just not gonna happen. so..... ive decided to build one out of two. both jeeps have lifts consisting of new coils, coil spacers, lift packs, add-a-leaves, blocks and shackles. one of them has a 231 transfer case w/ rubicon express slip-yolk eliminator. both have 4.0L and aw4 automatic.... anyway i have compiled a list of bolt on products that have been takin up room everywhere and now its gonna get done.
heres what ive got so far:
new radiator for closed cooling system $75
rustys tie rod and drag link $150
summit 5 point bucket seats w/ covers $95
msd streetfire ignition box $150
msd high vibration coil $50
3 link long arm kit for front end $250
pacesetter header $150
60" hi-lift $25
rcx rock sliders $200
dyno max exaust $free
727kawe440-built square rear bumper $trade

And hopefully coming soon:
unibody stiffeners $150?
rockcrusher diff covers 30/35 $150
warn transfercase skid $95
interior cage $350-500

considering the cost of the jeeps i will be in less than 5k
heres both of the heeps

will post more as i progress

so i made some more work for myself but not a big deal..... i must have sheered the splines off the dana 30 shafts in the project jeep.... was doin a brake stand when i left my buddys fab shop and then noticed a noise while i was drivin away. the rear of this jeep is a stock limited-slip, front welded. anyway, I CAN TURN AGAIN! sitting at the stop light i can crank my wheels all the way around. oh well go pull the spare d30 outa the storage unit!

march 24 09

so ive been wiring in my msd streetfire ign boxand it came out fine with one exception.... THE REV LIMITER DOESNT WORK!!!!!!! WTF!! can anyone tell me why this is happening? i cut the specified loop to select # of cylinders, that should be it right? now im

march 29 09

so the ups man brought me new diff covers:mouth_water:

the lip gets machined for an even surface

and yeah yeah its for a 30/35 combo and i shouldnt have bought them... dont worry i have plans now to go half- width<?> 62" narrow track waggy 44 and 9.25

april 1 09

so i got the 33s and new steering setup on. i didnt give the jeep an alignment or check the toe, just drove it an so far so good.... no wobbles or nuthin. the drag link on this rustys setup is almost exactly the same angle and length as my track bar. and the track bar that came with this jeep was relocated higher so its almost perfect

april 9 09

installed new tranny filter and painted my hood vents too

april 11 09

pulled my front diff cover yesterday and found out what happened to my 'welded' diff.... i broke the welds!!! the p.o. welded the spiders to the walls of the carrier. and he didnt weld the spiders to themselves so it was sheer strength that held both axles solid. so nothing seems to be broken other than the welds and since its a throw away, who cares?

First trip with the new xj up the hunter lake trail. did good except for a melted wire loom and when starting it back up after a break it seemed to load up a little and had to clear it up a bit with some extra pedal

April 19th, 2009
went wheelin today down at the pyramid mud pit.... think i broke a rocker arm or pushrod due to the loud knockin on top of my valve cover

pulled my valve cover yesterday and nothin was broken and i turned it over without spark. sounds like i may have just bent a pushrod but not sure untill i pull the guts today. also it looks like im not geting much oil towards the top end, not good

edit: pulled off the belt today and found a noise comin the alternator... got a lot of dirt out of it and now sounds smooth

so the noise wasnt comin from my top end at all, it was mud behind every pulley and in the alt.... the knockin was some rocks gettin bounced around. cleaned the **** out of everything now the only thing makin noise is my brakes, must be some rocks in there too!!
oh yeah check out the new switch locations
