I think I'm just going to re-build the motor I have now. I'm still at a loss trying to understand some of the aspects of a stroker and really I just want it driveable again. So now I need to pull it out and start tear down. Or if someone has a spare motor that they'll let go for relatively cheap I can just swap that in and hold on to my block so that I can drive it while still researching and figuring out the stroker plan. Or I'll just rebuild it for a little more performance with a mild cam and probably a 99+ intake manifold. Anybody have any other suggestions?

Well I'm leaving tomorrow for basic. So obviously work on the jeep will be halted while I'm there. When I get out the jeep is coming to school with me where ill be rebuilding some stuff and upgrading other areas to get it to where I want it.

Wow it's been awhile since I looked at my own build. As most of y'all know I joined the Navy and have spent the last 8 weeks at boot camp. Well I finally graduated that place on December 28th and the next day was on a plane to Charleston, SC. It's a pretty cool place so far and I've seen quite a few nice XJ's and there's even a badass MJ with the newer front clip at the auto shop on base. I don't have my XJ down here yet but when my fiancee comes to visit in late February for her birthday she's going to tow it down for me. So for now it's research and collect parts for it pretty much until then. Although I'm also debating picking up a ZJ and transferring the good parts over to that since I would prefer a ZJ anyway as it's a nicer vehicle and has more amenities such as cup holders and way more comfortable seats. That's all I got for now but I'll definitely be updating as I make some more purchases and figure out which direction I want to go. Thanks for reading my novel haha like I said it's been a long *** time since I've been on here or been able to read any of it.

Front suspension and axle I could reuse. I could use the rear axle to with some welding. Or I might get an 8.8. It's all just thinking out loud phase at the moment so I'm looking at all options

So I decided I'm going to just re-build my motor. I bought a re-build kit that includes piston rings, rod bearings, main bearings, and a full gasket set. Anything else y'all can recommend? I'd like to squeeze a bit more power out if I could. I already plan on a 99+ intake manifold and a new header and down pipe, so anybody think of anything internal? I would assume probably just a mild cam and new rollers to go with that. Any ideas? I'm also going to update a little later on with the rest of what I plan on doing once I get her down here next month. I'll have plenty of time to save up some cash and make a few big purchases for some upgrades so stay tuned.

A mild cam and roller rockers would be a waste of money unless you were going to build a stroker. I would suggest just rebuilding the motor, replace all the gaskets and buy yourself a snorkel.

That's what I was thinking I was just curious for some input on it. So you think what I have is enough? I don't need to pick up anything else for the re-build?
