Default ALOT of Firsts..IDEAS?

Well this is my first post on here, just bought my first jeep!!! a stock 89 XJ 4 door its in good mechanical shape and hardly has any rust. but since its my first i figure id get some ideas and feed back from you guys. what lifts are good, rim and tire combos. other parts i need? problems to look out for? probably looking to get a 4.5 inch lift nothing to crazy and maybe a 33x12.5 inch tire....how much if any cutting will i have to do? also how much should a windshield cost to replace? mines toast. on a budget so looking for the best bang for the buck! ANY info is appreciated!

I'm not really trying to be a jerk here but if you search around a bit you'll see that each of your questions is asked at least 3 times a day. Take a look around the forums and you'll have the answers to your questions in no time.

Windshield prices vary depending on location and the company. Safelite will do a quote online and they are usually more expensive. Then try to call around to local small businesses. Had the windshield replaced for about $200. Safelite quote was over $220.

tons of reasearch to do on this great forum. get about a 3 1/2" lift unless you want to start spending a ton of money on additional upgrades. make sure to get new leaf packs also. you can always fit 'bigger' tires with little cutting on the fenders as well. enjoy Kodiak and maybe we will see you on Coast Guard AK one day!

i can tell you if you buy each part separate and not as a whole kit about 90 % of the time you come out with a better lift and less money spent do alot of research and make sure you have everything to do it right the first time instead of creating more headaches

thanks smelt, ya im new to the jeep world so it should be fun....i also live in kodaik so getting parts shipped is somewhat of a pain. usually shipping cost more than the parts. but i was looking at getting a ZONE 4.5 with the new rear leafs, off of ebay- shippings not gonna kill me. but im open to suggestions...just a newb with a XJ haha
