Default wheelin'

Well yesterday I got to go wheelin with some buddies and man it was a fun time. Started about 9am and finished around 5pm haha. We did the 3 gulches- Hacket, metbury, and longwater. Here are a few of the pictures of me.

haha I woulda invited you but it was a buncha military dudes I just met and figured since we had to wake up at like 630 to meet up with them and didn't get done till like 5pm it'd be hard to convince you to go with only a days notice haha next time we go though I'll let you know for sure man. It was a blast. The pictures definately don't do the trails justice.

Well here is my new custom made double cardon driveshaft I just installed:


I also got a picture of my jeep with all the lights on I just need to adjust the roof lights a little better:


Also went wheeling today with FlemingXJ. Good fun before the snow hit tonight. Here we are on a big rock haha.



and his buddy's attempt at mudding, but falling into a a deep hole in the ice haha. I had to tow him out because his back wheels were off the ground.

Yesterday I finally fixed my sway bar so now I can go on the freeway again. I broke the "bullet pin" on my rubicon express sway bar discos wheeling awhile ago. I made some new ones yesterday and I am pretty happy with them.

I basically furnished a "PTO Draw pin" like this:

This following picture is where I got the idea from. These aren't my disconnects, but I would like to make some for myself eventually because the rubicon express ones I have suck. Here is a link to how the guy made them: link






I also tested the flex a little bit and realized how much I need further extended bump stops up front. I need about 3" more to make the bump stop even useful.

Today I finally cleaned my extremely dirty engine bay. I know this isn't much of a mod but I figured you all might be interested in how to make an engine look brand new . Here are some pictures 20 min after everything dried:





Also cleaned the rest of it up for the first time in months:



A guy I know who details cars for a living told me the best products to use.



Here is a little "how-to" for anyone who has a nasty engine bay like mine used to be and wants to clean it.

1.Disconnect the (-) terminal and cover the intake and fuse box with towels
2. Spray the whole engine bay down down with a pressure washer.
3. Spray some Purple power or equivalent degreaser on everything and let sit.
4. Wash off with pressure washer.
5. Spray a can of this amazing stuff CD2 engine cleaner (could only find it at checkers) and let sit with the engine on for about 10-20 min-dont wash off.

Today I installed a new Valve Cover Gasket. I've had a slow leak since I bought my xj and finally got around to putting in a new gasket. Here are some pics- pretty easy process.

Here is what the leak looked like:


And what I did:





I used the best available gasket so hopefully I wont have to worry about this again.

Hey, if you are talking about the spring spacers, I am planning on actually cutting them down a little and adding them to my front eventually to level it out. I think these are the 2" spacers I bought though on ebay for about $30: here is a Link.

Yea it was pretty nasty in there before, with lots of mud and dirt. A little nicer to work on and look at now.
