Default Alaskan Wanderer

After selling my comanche to RMOORE I have relocated to Northwest alaska. Sitting outside my shop was a 1992 MJ with 35674 miles. Was owned by the hospital here and since the camper shell on it limited visibility so much it was never really used. got big plans for this. found myself a six inch lift and 31 inch MT Baja claw ttc in my budget. just got internet back so ill be posting. doing some research on 4.0l modifications since they are one of the only engines that can handle the arctic circle.

BTW this photo was taken today MAY 20. stopped snowing for the afternoon.Name: Photo2013-05-20032536_zps2045c8a9.jpg

1. You lucky ****************.
2. You have 1 of 952 MJs made in 92.
3. 6" lift and 31"? Isn't that gonna look weird? Reference : Collin has around 4.5-5" on 31".
4. You got stock buckets?!?!? Refer to #1
5. I started painting my XJ OD green.
6. My MJ is getting new floors and 96 buckets.
7. Remember that Comanche seat brackets are proprietary. I found out the hard way.
8. Enjoy that HO.

Well shipping for a kit is going to run 300 dollars. might just fabricate a long arm kit. i would do 33s but i think that the tundra here will want me to flex pretty well. collins had an "interesting" lift. might be able to get my hands on a j10 with a rebuild motor.

J10s are sick. I wish I could see a running one around here. Found a bunch in the junkyard.

That mj looks rough for only 35k.
6.5 inches of lift is about 4 inches too much for 31s.
I run 4.5 and 35s and have more flex than 90% of the people here.

Yeah it is rough, only about 3 miles of total road here, riddled with potholes and it was owned by a hospital without a maintenance program. engine isnt original.

Haven't made up my mind about the project, but I know I want it to be able to roll around the plains. take it north for hunting and general wheeling in the open. Probably take it to alaska's dessert. Still think thats just a tale they give new people. of course i didn beleive them when they said it would be snowing in june

I guarantee you'll be happier with something like 3-4 inches and 33s. Much more stable, more ground clearance. I've wheeled taller rigs with baby tires.. my new rig (somewhat lcog) is so much better in basically every situation.

Let me know if you want full gauges. Plenty of HO ones around. The side mirrors just need to be placed like how we did on mine. Looks like we got the same big dent on the bed.

yeah just about a foot longer and an uglier color. Exactly the same floorboard situation. Fender are the same. Grill is as we got the 88. but after a little elbow grease and it still puts you sideways at 50. its got the factory "comanche" hardliner. Expect that in FS section.
