I'm building this jeep, its my first car, daily driver, I'm not building it for a wheeler. I'm going to do light off roading. I'm buying RE 3.5 leaf packs and I'm going to use the shackles that came with the rough country lift

No one is saying anything negative. Most of us don't wheel super hard or even all that often for that matter. We are all trying to help you build your jeep the right way the first time so that you don't waste your time, money, and effort. Listen to us. We have been there and done that. You do not need to make the mistakes some of us did.

Ask questions and do your research before just throwing money around. You said it yourself, you don't have much money so don't waste it.

On that note, what are you doing about your drive line? Please tell us that you have an SYE.

The rough country kit came with a t case drop. That's it for the driveline right now. I want to focus on getting it lifted first then I'll know exactly what I need. Track bar, pitman arm, etc. So I'm now planning on doing the rubicon express 3.5 full packs with the shackles that came with the rough country 4.5 kit. They are 1.5 or 2 inch shackles, there is two different holes so you can have a 2 inch or 1.5 shackle. Hoping if I set it at the 1.5 shackle setting with the 3.5 spring that It will match the front rough country 4.5 pretty well. The rear might be a half inch higher but that's okay, the springs will settle over time

You NEED a track bar at anything over 2" of lift. It is completely unsafe to drive without one at 4.5". The TC drop should only be extremely temporary.

You're going to learn a lesson here in this situation. You are not "building" your Jeep, you're trying to make it "look cool". I understand that want, but at least do it mostly the right way.

one of my friends has the those leaf packs, and they actually gave him 4.5 inches of lift. so i think those are the better way to go. if they dont give you the lift you need, use the shackle. but dont order the 4.5 from rough country they are too short and will feel like you are driving a tractor.

The Rubicon Express will net you about 4.5 inches to start off with. I'd keep the RC shackles incase it settles down and you need to go higher. Use your stock shackles for the time being.

Quote: jesus christ guys leave the kid alone.

he is doing it the right way, hes in high school like i am. he's "slowly" building it because its not a daily driver right now because hes only 15. every jeep is different i have a couple friends with 4.5 inch lifts and they had zero driveline vibes without a drop or sye.

Do it once and do it right.

Awesome springs. Most likely the best on the market. They will get you ~4.5" like everyone else says they will.

He doesn't need a sye, yeah it would be nice to have a sye and it would be recommended but he doesn't "have" to have one. I'm on full widths with 4inches of lift and 35s and don't have a sye. Haven't had any problems off-road with is coming out and drives perfectly fine on the road.

New leaf springs are on the way! Does anybody have any interior mods they have done that are easy and cheap? If so let me see em! More pics to come when I get the new springs installed
