Oh man, that is one of the cleanest installs I have ever seen.
Keep it going.

Well I haven't gotten a while lot done due to the weather but made some progress. I will get more pics up this weekend. I now have the trans in the fuel cell in and plumbed, fuel pump installed , and tore the dash out to make my own cluster and switch panel in the slot where the radio used to be. The headers have been a pain in the *** but are almost there. I finally got the clearance for them now just need to finish them, and fit the rest of the exhaust.

Looking awesome! Love your attention to detail. That fuel set up is sweet.

Ok got some more done this weekend finally. I got my guage cluster in and wired up (just need to find a black fuel guage now). I set the jeep up to its ride hight just need to move the front rear back a few inches to center it. All the switches are wired up and tucked under the dash to keep the water off them. Also got the hood marked out to start cutting to make room for the engine

I'll be watching this build. This is more or less the rig I plan on building one I finish with my K5 and get back in an XJ (CUCV 60/14b, front leaves, D300, etc.)

Are you using the factory LCA mounts as a spring hangar?

I don't know...I think it would help me to visualize this rigs potential if it were flexing on something, oh I don't know...maybe a Prius or two.

No once I get everything set i will be cutting the LCA mounts out as I'll be tying new mounts into the unibody as I plate it. My progress has been slow as of late, race season has started and I'm spending all my spare time keeping my other xj ready for the season. This is my small xj lol, 14 inches of lift, 36 inch swampers, locked front and rear all custom made suspension and long arms, all powered by the great 4.0 and a little silly spray.

I can dig it.

I'm glad you're deciding to ditch the thin factory junk. A vast majority of the leaf swapped XJ builds I've read up on are using it. Seeing as I ripped off an LCA mount with the factory 4-link on 33's, I wouldn't trust it to hold leaves without major reinforcement.

One thing I've seen recommended if you're going to use strap-type shackles is to cross-tie them:

Otherwise when binded up and trying to turn, the body will just shift, rather than actually turning the wheels.

YMMV, and I have no 1st hand experience with this yet, but just thought I'd share what I've read.

Been a while since I updated. I had messed up my knee and now I can finally get back to this build. I'll be moving into a new shop this weekend so there will be progress pics to come shortly
