Default 98 xj project

some of you may remember a lil over a yr ago i picked up a 98 xj sport 4x4. it had a blown headgasket and wouldnt crank, i picked it up for $500 with 187,000 miles. was a little dirty, dents on the bumper etc... but i figured a little TLC and searching for some parts and a new motor i could work on it slowly.
so i found a motor with 95k on it out of a 98 classic for $225, picked up a few new parts from other jeeps the guy had laying around like a new bumper, corner bumper trim, interior pieces, etc.
b/t work and planning our wedding i didnt get much time to work on it, so once things settled down i got to work on it some, i finally got it running about a month ago and had to tie up a few odds and ends before i drove it to my house (its been sitting at my parents since he has more tools).
i also found a set of 5 rubicon moab wheels with 3 new goodyear mtr's and 2 with probably 5k-10k miles left on em, picked the set of for $400 (steal ftw)
anyways i brought her to my house today and put the lift on the front and my buddy helped me and put the front clip back on with the freshly painted new(used) bumper and grill/headlight bezels.
i plastidipped the fender flares and they came out pretty damn good, but every single one of the clips broke when i took em off so my dad is gonna weld them for me or ill find some more.
heres some before and after pix of what i got done so far
when i brought it home

progress slowly but surely

thanks guys. slow but sure process.

i work 10hrs/day, about 11, drive an hour each way so chalk it up for 13hr work days... by the time i get home i got about an hour left of day light to do work and while the mosquitoes eat me alive i try to work with the flood lights for a bit if im in the mood.

anyways, got a little more done last night. rear bumper painted and trim mocked up (couldnt get that damn screw in underneath behind the tire... lil SOB hole had a burr on it, it was getting dark so i gave up for the night. still gotta get the front flare and bumper caps on

pix are kinda blurry. was pretty much dark, but set the shutter speed for about a second on my camera to let some light in. needless to say after workin on the jeep i was less than steady and that lens is vibration reduction

thats just smug marks from grease/dirt above the trim (i need to clean it)

hey fellas. making progress finally! got inspection/tags/insurance and got her on the road today! went down to the beach and picked up a season pass so i can drive/camp out there. also got a front bumper from leonard, went and picked it up.

2" BB and 245/75s

rear springs are saggy as hell, plan to fix that pretty soon bc it needs new tires up front too... i got some decent plans in mind

got do a lil painting, etc. winch soon to be mounted on that bumper lol.
