I sand blasted the stock exhaust manifold and painted it. It's the only thing wrapped so far. The rest of the exhaust I'll have custom made out to the rear. I want it more tucked up between the trans and engine.
Ok I'm almost ready to weld up the sub structure fir the rear bumper. I'm thinking if these angles. Especially on the end by the rear fender well. There are actually 2 tubes top and bottom of hitch reciever and tow points. The hitch is getting a plate behind it to the tubes and gusseted behind as well. The hitch and tow locations plane out at the same level on the bottom. Im going to cut this angle in the tubing and plate the front kinda like a fender well extension but not conneted to the cut on fold. Actually back a bit more so no rattles or contact. The plate on top will run under the weather strip but not too close to the body. I hate rattles and such. I'll plate the tubing like this. In addition there will be a plate under the whole thing on a similar plane as my fabbed skid plate with probably an inch between the skid and the bottom of the bumper. The lower piece will be dimple died like the skid plate to make it more strong and allow for drainage of water and mud.
I’ve got a lot of the tools......I’m working in a 16x32 shed with a wooden floor because of town zoning wouldn’t let me add on to my garage, store a lot in garage since house is 1910 farmhouse basement ....long story. Redoing undercarriage in the shed, going to move back into garage to do rock slider rockers and bumpers.
On another note. I got my steering box in with my own fabbed box bracket.
what did you do about the cross member support for the transfer case with the stiffeners welded in? Did you keep the oem one or buy aftermarket?
And which shocks did you buy for this lift?
