Default 96' Trailrunner XJ

well... Here we go again. This isnt my first time building an XJ, and to be exact its my 9th cherokee i've either built or helped build.

So... this is my newest XJ. A 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country. Its got the famous 4.0L H.O., AW4, NP231J, D30, and C8.25. I dont really like buying other peoples projects, but this one was way to nice to pass up. I bought it with a 5'' lift that is a ProComp 3'' with 2'' spacers up front and the stock blocks from an F-150. It also has a C.4x4 front winch bumper with no winch(yet), a set of cheapo fog lights, C.4x4 taillight guards, a homemade CAI, Magnaflow cat, Flowmaster 40, and full 2-1/2'' piping. oh and it has 33x12.50R15 Definty Dakota A/Ts with some aluminum wheels I havent identified yet. My plan is to build it into an XJ that can go at highspeeds across the desert, and then slow down and crawl down any trail I can find... Hence the name Trailrunner

Nice Looking Rig, Keep up the updates and trails you hit. I like a white XJ covered in mud.

Haha!! ya my buddy borrowed his girlfriends car that night, little did she know that he was going to take it and try to follow me around I'm pretty sure that car was on a strap behind my jeep more than it was driving on its own down the trail

You can get them from C.4x4 for $125 i think. And unless I replace them with metal taillight boxes and LEDs, then I dont really see myself gettin rid of them... sorry

So I added a few things today... First I made a tire mount on the stock roof rack so I could at least have a fullsize spare. Then I added a quick little Hi-lift mount mount on the roof rack also so it wasn't bouncing around in the back. Then on my daily trip to super walmart I found Hella 500 lights on clearance for $30!!! So of course a bought a pair and replaced my cheapy little lights with the hellas, and my plan is to put the cheap square fogs on the back of the roof rack. And I also have a set of crappy Harbor frieght lights that I plan on putting on the sides of the rack. I havent taken any pics yet, but I will tomorrow

So heres a few things i've done in the last few days

I made a quick and easy tire mount off of the stock roof rack out of some angle steel I had laying around, and also made a hi-lift mount at the same time

Next I found some Hella 500 driving lights at walmart for $30!! so of course I bought them and had to bolt them on. Than I added a little sticker that I picked up from an airshow, and zip tied my drift charm to the back

I'm on a little vacation right now, but when I get back I'll be putting on a set of Hanneman front race fenders, my old fog lights on the back of the roof, and adding 6 more Hella 500 lights, one more on the front bumper, and 5 mounted in a lightcage I plan on making on the roof

Alrighty then!!! I just oredered a set of OR-FAB quarter guards, and 3 sets of Hella 500FFs. When I get back home in a few days i'll be changing diff fluids and painting the diff covers, I'll be getting a bunch of tube to make a new roof rack, recutting my front fenders(since I cant afford the Hannemans right now), Cut/Fold the lower quarters, make a rear bumper that wraps around under the quarter panels, modify the door hinges to be removable, and make a cargo rack in the back.... I got a lot to, and I want it all to be done before April 1st to go on a little wheelin trip
