94 XJ Budget Build
Just picked up a 94 cherokee 4.0 5spd a few weeks back. Needs a few things but i think it has some real potential. I wanna keep it DD'able but be able to have fun in it as well.
How i bought it:
Tires are 265/75/15. I'm looking for a used set to replace these with that are more aggressive.
You can see too there are rear shackle drops and an extra leaf has been added on each side.
You can see where someone has built some rockers on the driver's side. Passenger side is still in rough shape though.
Pro Comp ES3000's on the front with some spring spacers.
Front seats have been swapped out of a newer XJ i think. The brackets don't match and whoever did it drilled through the floor and put some bolts through to hold them in place.

The floorboards in the back have all been custom fab'd and replaced.
Motor runs great. 186xxx miles, and i've heard this is nothing for these jeeps.
From what i can tell this is an added electric fan, but there are no switches or anything for it. So i'm not sure what it is wired to but i've never seen it come on. Something i'm going to have to rewire probably.
So that's how i bought it. From what i can see it needs a lot of TLC and some fabrication.
First trip to the JY. New dash bezel, hatch cover (was missing), driver's side mirror (was dangling), driver's side interior door handle (spring was missing), passenger side arm rest (was missing) and some pro comp LCA's that are in decent shape.
Jeep gets DW over 40 if you hit any kind of bump. Bought an IRO adjustable trac-bar and got it on today.

Jeep has some stuff done to it, but with the lift that's on it they didn't upgrade much else so it doesn't drive that great. I.e. DW. So i want to do what i can to fix that.
What i've noticed:
- front shocks upgraded with pro comp es3000's
- spring spacers
- rear shackle drop w/ add a leaf
- auxilliary electric fan
My main concern is bringing the suspension up to par so i'm not putting any unneeded strain on anything with the lift. I want to also replace the spring spacers with lift springs, remove the fender flares and trim the fenders and replace the tires/repaint wheels.
Also, does anyone know anything about replacing the LCA brackets on the axle. I'm just wondering if anyone sells any or if i would need to fab some up. The driver's side bracket is cracked and warped to hell so i'm sure that isn't helping anything.
Any advice or opinions you guys have on the jeep would be awesome. I'm new to the offroad scene but excited about the new buy

Well they've been on since i've had it, so i can't compare to stock, but i've had no complaints so far. I have a lot of shake on bumps but that's probably mostly due to the need for a few other things (lca brackets, a few bushings, trac-bar adjustment, etc)
