Default 91 Cherokee build

So here is my 91 cherokee, haven't done much to it yet, but I have started. It is a 91 Laredo with 192k miles, runs good for it's age...

My plans are to add a 3 inch lift and 31" mickey thompson baja MTZ's, rusty's offroad has a package deal to get both for $1500. (http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan..._Code=WHEELS10)

I am also planning on replacing the front bumper with the Rough Country XJ bumper and an 8000lb winch. (http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-xj-...mper_1057.html)

Before I bought it, sitting behind the dealer.

Brought it home and cleaned it up.

So been doing some general tic to the jeep. I have been getting gosh awful mpgs (13, and I'm driving like granny), so i set out to try and fix the problem. This past weekend I did a tune up and an oil change. No luck. So I just replaced the thermostat (it was stuck open, running cold) and hopefully it will gain me some mileage. I am thinking it was running rich because it was trying to warm up the engine. Anyway, here's just a little pic I took to show it off, lol.

Ok, so I had a strange occurrence while driving today. My jeep has been running great, and the mpgs have greatly improved. But while sitting at a stoplight my jeep randomly shut off. It started right back up and drove fine, but it concerned me. I'm thinking the cps, any ideas?

I just finished battling that problem. Would be sitting at idle, die...60 mph...die....along the way had a voltage issue, so a new battery, alternator, crank sensor, plugs, battery cables, cleaned up all the grounds...purrs like a kitten now. I am going to do an external voltage regulator, so if I ever have issues I won't need to replace entire ecm. Awesome build so far, keep up the good work

Thanks for the positive comments guys! I really don't know what happened that caused it to shut off. I am thinking something just got hot, cause before I replaced the thermostat the hottest it would run was about 160. Hasn't done it again though and I put about 60 miles on it today. I did go from 13 in the city to 17 though, so I am very happy. Waiting to sell my old mustang to fund my lift and tires.

I found out a few days ago that the guy I bought the jeep off of never drove it, his daughter did. She quit driving it because it would die occasionally. He drove it to work after a wreck he was in, and he drove it for 3 weeks...never died. I drove it for over a month before it started dying on me. It's an easy enough change, and I bought one for $12 off ebay...part number crosses to a dorman, which you could get advance or oreilly

Has a super 44 and no cat now. The old one was shot and they chopped it for free and it would have been 200 for a new one. Will upload video soon.
