jeep with all the stuff on it and roof rack. roof rack still lacks Hi Lift Jack, spare tire, and shovel, but took all off to make it more easy to lift (wife was helping put it on top...where would i be without her)

all three my cars in a row, my sad and abused 1988 jeep Cherokee, my new 1994 jeep Cherokee with great potential, and my ridiculously fast Trans am, gets a lot of police attention so i try not to drive it all the time.

yea i cant quit my day job...i'm in the military...but i love working on my jeep, it makes my hard times alot better. when my wife is upset and needs time off she goes shopping, i work on my jeep or go abuse it some more, which usually ends up with me working on it some more

Default update

Well now for an update. my jeeps have been with my uncle who is slackin on the engine swap from my 88 to my 94. the engine in the 88 is originaly from a 93 so it will work great. the only reason i didnt do it myself is cause my apt people were complainin about all the noise i make and i had to live there and didnt want to get kicked out, so my uncle said he would do it. he works at the jeep dealer so it is not a problem. i have new parts in the mail and awaiting to be put on my jeep when i get it back. a list is the parts that are going on hopefully next week:

Login's metal products Pre-runner style winch bumper (not here yet)
Smithybuilt XRC 8 comp winch
4 Procomp HID converted lights for the roof
2 Hella HID lights for the front (if they fit)
Slotted and drilled front rotors w/Hawk Proformance pads
CB radio with PA system
New rear winshield wiper arm (broke during install, stupid me)
MORE STICKERS!!!!

and that is all i can think of for now. i am at work right now so when i get home i will post pics up of all the parts except for ones that are still in the mail. i cant wait to go abuse the crap out of my new long arm! i will break it in...literally! i am giving (for a price) all my old jeep stuff to my lil bro so he can convert his 91 to a 4x4 from a 2wd jeep. should be fun. i am just gonna be glad to be done with mine and be able to drive it to work again. my trans am gets me pulled over to much cause it is so damn loud...

I am amazed @ how rust free vehicles from the West coast are. One winter here in SE OH & you'd be sticking your feet through the floor boards in the Spring.

yes there is, because it requires a drill, i was making to much noise and the told me to stop or they were gonna issue a complaint. so i had just enough time to drill the small front holes but not the rear ones yet. yes i still have the bolts and i will be putting them on before the jeep ever sees a trail, but i will use the local hobby shop on base. so yes they are still going in, thanks for asking, i almost forgot about them.

hey guys, back for an update, my engine swap is done. my uncle says it runs way better then my old 88 ever did. also said there was more missing bolts and parts off it that he was surprised it still ran (the 94 that is). so i go pick it up next weekend and then all the happy new parts go on. i plan on doing it all in 1-2 days so i can get her back on the street and back to the trail! still need to test the drivability on the street first though, but i am really excited. now i need a SYE, does anyone have any suggestions for a good one? can you install it with the transfer case still in the car? and how hard is it? more pics and updates to come.

First, Thanks for your service, from a Vet. I don't know what your Military occupation is, but you're one hell of a mechanic!

The J means it's made for Jeep. No, seriously, that's the difference between the NP231 and the NP231J, the J units are built specifically for Jeep. Kinda like how you can go to Best Buy and look at a TV you like, but then find out that only Best Buy carries that model, everyone else carries one with a 1 or 2 digit difference in the part number. Same stuff.

This, very much so. Also, congratulations on finishing the swap, it looks good! Were there any problems going with the '93 engine in the '94? I'm about to do the opposite, put a '94 engine in a '93.
