Almost all of the studs on the backing plates for the flares twisted off when I removed them. Would you just drill them all out and tack weld in new 1/4 bolts?

Got started on the roof rack. Need to finish the bottom and build the gutter clamps. Then a cleaning and rattle can job. Not bad for a rookie.

Quadratec sells the backing plates for your type of flares. They a little pricey tho. Also just a suggestion, but you should consider building roof racks and selling. That one looks awesome, and I'm sure a lot of guys here would pay for something like that. Nice build, keep us all updated!

My company builds automotive lifts and other equipment so we have Autocad computer software and access to all manufacturing equipment. I may take your advise and start building some custom stuff to sell. Thanks for the positive comments.

Rookie no, Roof Rack manufacturer no, Broke guy with a bunch of kids, yes! Have to figure out how to do stuff on my own. Rear bumper with built in receiver hitch next. By the way, the bender does the work. I just have to know where to mark the pipe, that's the hard part.

Default Ready for Front Bumper

Ready to start the build on the front bumper. Should be a fun build. I am really wanting to look at some home brew stuff if anyone cares to post some pics of theirs to give me some ideas.

I will have to put the pencil to it to see what I can sell them for. I can tell you they will be solid welded, powder coated, and built in custom sizes. So that being said they will be = QUALITY-YES, CHEAP-NO, and probably freight FOB. That means you pay the freight or come pick it up.

That Woody brings back memories! I had an 89 with the same color scheme that i restored years ago and traded it for my son's Wrangler. Your doing a great job.. keep it up.

You dont need the flares brackets, some regular bolts/nuts and washers is all you need on the pre 97 flares. Save yourself several $$..

Wish i had that die.. i need a few pieces of 1" bent.

Give me dimensions, I'll be happy to hook you up. I feel like I may be DESTROYING more than RESTORING, but I am keeping all factory parts intact and ready to be put back on. I am trying really hard not to change any structural part. Thanks for the positive comment, I need it since this is my first build. My 5 and 6 year old say we have a monster truck now. Love it!

Lets see pics of the interior, how are the Waggy seats holding up?

Yours have the D44 and NP242?

You have plans to mount the rack differently?

I'll drop you a PM on that tube..
