Yup all accessories are connected to a separate fuse box installed under the dash. It has spare circuits already installed so if i ever want to add more electronics i just plug them in. I got the fuse box from painless wiring when i rewired the whole truck. I also upgraded the alternator to 170 amp by accident.

Finishing up the interior i decided to make a latch for my center console. Latch has been broken since i bought the turd and ive never come across a working one at the JY. I took an old zj center console i had in my garage and cut off the catch and epoxied it to the old XJ one. I then fiberglassed it together and reinforced it with more plastic strips. It kinda looks ****ty but its really strong and it works great.

I also reinstalled my RCX shock controller to my new dash.

The shocks are rancho adjustable's and i can change the dampening from inside the cab. The air compressor is mounted under the hood and hard lines run to each shock. Its pretty sweet. I traded a taurus fan for the entire setup.

I didnt take pictures but i also replaced the passenger side window, window seals on each window, door panels, one broken door handle and cleaned the carpet and all the seats. Its much more livable inside now. Everything works and it feels more like an actual vehicle than a toy.

I then got some 34.5x10.50x15 swamper tsl to replace my general mudders. I like the skinny tread alot better and they dont drive all that bad on the street. I also redid my rims. I was going to paint them but i decided to just get new bolts for the "bead locks", center caps, and lug nuts. I think they turned out great!

Bolts i got from Lowes

Nice. Digging the interior mods especially the home link thing. That is one of those things I never thought of. I need to find a new yard though because my local one all of the cherokees are pretty much picked clean.

Im pretty sure ive covered the whole interior. Ill take more pics when i finally finish cleaning everything. I have beat the **** out of this Jeep for so many years which makes cleaning all my previous mess a long process.

Now on to the exterior

I finally changed my front lights from cheapo plastic ones which kept falling off to cheapo metal ones. The mounting points looked stronger and the lights are much bigger. They are the KC knockoff lights from pepboys. I had to cut off the old mounting points from my light bar and weld up some new ones. I used 1/4" flatbar that i stacked for the mounts. The final thickness was 1/2" and the width was 1 1/2 ", i drilled 1/2" holes for the lights and then welded them under my lightbar on the front bumper. Coverage is still decent and the lights work great. Im happy with em, just gotta order some KC light covers.

I painted the bumper, lightbar and grill with spray on bedliner. I had to get a ton of new parts to make the grill fit properly and fit solid. I no longer have to worry about my side markers flying out and i am now able to adjust my headlights. If you look closely you can also see that i painted the jeep letters white to match the truck.

Hood Vents

I found some lebaron hood vents at the JY and i decided to throw em on. I like the look of them and anything to keep the engine cooler here in AZ is welcomed. I painted them with spray on bedliner as well. They look sweeeeet and as everyone says i can see the heat coming out of em when im driving.

I need to take some better pics of the over Jeep but you get the idea. To install them i just cut up my hood making sure not to cut into the hood supports, then i dropped the vents in and secured em from the backside with some angle aluminum and machine screws.

I also redid all my herculiner on the side of the turd. I put it on a few inches higher this time. Herculiner lasts fairly long but it had faded and was chipping off in a few areas. I brought it up to the top of where the old molding used to be.

I like it

I also sprayed my side mirrors with spray on bedliner. Whenever im offroading the mirrors really get beat on. Hopefully this will help keep them looking decent for a while. They also match the rest of the truck now.

Under the Hood -

I finally decided to do something about my brakes. I picked up a 1998 brake booster and master cylinder at the JY out of an XJ. I removed the old booster and MC and then test fitted the new one. Everything fit so i decided to add no spacers in between the booster and the firewall. I then cut the old push rod end off the old booster and then welded it onto the new booster push rod so the brake switch would work. I bought pre-flared brake lines from checkers and bent them to fit from the MC to the prop valve. I then bled the brake lines and that was it. Easy mod and made an amazing difference in my brakes. Stops like my DD 96 ZJ now. If anyone has any questions about this mod feel free to ask.

I had to move the washed fluid bottle a little bit forward to make everything fit. Just drilled new holes and bolted it down.

The stock airbox fit but barely fit so i ordered a rusty's airtube. I had a filter laying around that someone gave me as payment for a side job. The shipping was expensive so expensive that i almost decided to make my own, but i gave in an ordered it anyway. I am glad i did now, the construction and welds were top notch. Really easy to install and very stable in the engine bay. I personally dont care if its a cold air or not. This is a jeep not a rice burner and 1 or 2 horsepower make no difference to me. I have no desire to race a bunch of high school kids in dodge neons and honda civics.

The filter is some kind of K and N knock off. It whistles when i drive and from what i can tell gives no performance gains. It gives me lots of room tho and is re-usable.

Curiosity question?? what did you do with the little vaccum lines that go to the airbox? i want to get rid of it and get something like what you have so i can just clean my filter and not have to replace it all the time.

Nice jeep by the way you gave me some serious ideas for my 87.. ALSO what did you do with your overflow bottle once you converted to open cooling? I have everything i need i just can't figure out where to put the overflow
