Well mine is more low profile. It would be single drawer the entire size of the cargo area. It gets wider after the wheel well so I'm planning on that space for my long gun. The rest is for the m4 and other stuff, magazines ear/eye pro, spotting gear ect. I'll show you what I have tomorrow to start with

Quick update. I acquired a Lund visor, got it bondo'd to fix some chips, and primed. Was going to paint it but my paint gun needs a couple of parts. Ill paint it tomorrow.

Sweet build so far man! I've always wanted a white one, but here I am on my second green XJ build - funny how they pick us isn't it?

I too have been pondering a slide-out gun drawer for my XJ so I'll be interested in seeing what you end up doing. Here's some ideas I've been tossing around so far. Keep in mind though that I'm planning on sacrificing the rear seats - I tried to think of a way to have one that could fit behind the rear seat and expand forward with the seat folded up, but I gave up on that. Sounded too heavy.

Lately I've been thinking of one that's divided down the middle inside, front to back with a long drawer on one side that goes from the hatch to the back of the front seats (for the rifles) and a short drawer on the other side for pistols and stuff, with a fold-up lid on the forward half of that side that you would access from the back door or front seats. It would have carpet on the top so the dogger could get proper traction, and the height of it would be perfect for him to sniff out the back windows since he has to stand on the arm rests the way it is now. I want to bolt it to the floor with threaded rods that bolt through the floor to steel plates underneath and go up through the box and bolt to d-ring mounts on top so I have tie-downs on top of the box that are bombproof. To remove it you'd just have to unbolt the tie-downs on top so you could drop the threaded rods down and then the box would slide out the back. I've gotta do skid plates and gears next though so that's down the road a bit for me. By then I'll probably have something totally different in mind though right?

Anyway, I'm subscribed.
Keep up the awesome build and thank you for your service!

Thanks man, I'll keep you guys posted. The jeep is wounded right now the steering gearbox has a busted seal it has been pouring out power steering fluid I'm debating swapping in a Durango box now but for the time being it's sitting in my parking spot also because of a failure to plan I see that it's going to rain for the next week and I am doorless so instead of putting the doors back on like any logical person with you I just threw a tarp over the jeep since it's going to be sitting.

Well a huge update. I just bought a Dana 60 rear for 100. Trying to get up with a guy about getting a Dana 60 front for 120. If that one goes through ill have 1 tons and full widths for less than 300. Make it a little easier to spend money to upgrade

More good news. Got a 77 f250 Dana 44 for 150. Needs a little work though but hey it's a deal for me. Plus I got the Lund visor on (finally)

The 44 doesn't need much, just a few parts to finish it off.

Found a couple air tanks for the on board air. This one is off a marine corps 7 ton. No I didn't steal it off a truck haha. The other one I got is off a semi.
