I just joined this forum and thought I would start off in the build section. Last week I purchased a stock 2001 Cherokee Classic, follow along if you like.
My primary focus with this build will be 'well roundedness' I live in Coastal BC and use my rigs in all 4 seasons for remote mountaineering and backcountry ski access, that means a whole lot of logging roads and deep powdery snow.
I retired my 85 Toyota turbo diesel on 33's with Detroits front and rear, it was a great truck but a rough ride for longer trips and I got sick of chasing rust. (my current DD is a 4cyl IFS 96 Tacoma on 33's with 5.29's, not impressed)
OK Lets get started!!!!
Today I ordered:
-Metal Cloaks 3.5" XJ Short-Arm with ARB Shocks and upgraded to the Aluminum Upper Control Arms.
-GenRights Extended Range Gas Tank (don't like jerry cans, many reasons)
-A set of Goodyear DuroTrac's 31"X10.5" (I know, I know so boring, but like I said this build is about being 'well rounded')
Whats next???
-A lockright in the rear Chrysler 8.25
-light weight low profile rock sliders
-HID headlight upgrade
-And yes one of those Bad-*** overland roof top tents because I'm sick of sleeping in the back of pick-ups.
Open to any advice or suggestions, have a great day and happy wheeling.
