Yes they are and I couldn't agree more. The bountiful B is a pretty good spot but it's a little outside of slc. Not as good of "trail" riding though. At the top of gaurdsmans pass someone built a pretty fun obsical course.
Yah i have seen that little "obstacle coarse" at the top of guardsmans pass, im hearing alot of things about 5 mile pass, i wanna go try it out, i heard its open in the winter aswell. what trails are you hittin up in american fork canyon?? I really like forest lake its a good dificulty for my jeep

5 miles is a good time its just 40 miles away from me. Never been there in the snow but I cant imagine you'd get very far. The only trail I did out there was challenging for my jk rubicon. I have only done the forest lake trail. I want to try the mineral basin trail this year. I've heard its pretty fun and has some awesome camping spots. Where in the valley are you located?
2)The track bar seemed to be limiting the "drop" of the axle on the passenger side. I had to unbolt it all together to get the coil out. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance for the advice!
Yes, the ball joint on the frame side can only pivot so far before it hits its limit. You need to get a double shear TB to get the full flex potential of that lift.
I have 2 XJ's that I have put new TB's on. One bar came with a new mounting bracket that completely replaced the factory bracket. Easy to install, but I found that it allowed a little flex. Not good.
The other I got from Ironman Andy (Ironman4x4fab.com) and it uses an adapter with the factory bracket. Not an easy install and you have to weld it all together before you are done. Solid! I would highly reccomend this if you have the means.
The factory bracket is engineered to be ridgid.
Kevins Offroad also uses the factory bracket for his for the same reason, I think.

Your the man! I was thinking that's what it was because my jk never had issue's like this but it was double shear stock. Iron rock offroad makes a full bolt on for 189 that I've been looking at. I'll check into the one you recommended as well. Thanks for the help!

I live up by the university so getting out to anywhere is kind of a trek, Mineral basin is a little more challenging than forest lake, i completely smashed my unibody rail on that trail. i want to try out 5 mile pass but i dont know how to get there

I'm in the same boat. I live at the mouth of big cottonwood canyon so gaurdsmans is the closest to me. If you ever want to go out to 5 mile let me know. Its not to hard to get to.
Sorry I was off the page for so long! life definitely got in the way. Since my last update, the only things I have added to the old girl were more scratches from good times, a snorkel, the new rustys bumpers and rigid light bar. It also breaks my heart to say that she is no more. While in Moab last week, we were driving back into town from Fins n' Things and an overloaded f250 that was double hauling plowed into us. It totaled my jeep as well as the majority of the addons (the most expensive parts). We walked away so I can't be too upset but it hurts to think how much money just went down the drain. Here are a few pics of the trials and places the old girl took me before that I'll never forget!
If any of you happen to have a driver side flat flare or need a passenger side and want to split it with me that would be a great start! The craziest part about all this is that my rigid light bar survived the impact. I don't know if its because of their build quality or the rustys bumper(probably combo of the two) but that kept me from spending another $400. I need control arms, a trackbar, and front shocks to get my lift to be whole again if you know anyone selling. I'm trying to stay as low cost as possible seeing as this is my second time buying this stuff. Cheers boys/girls!
