Not much to report when things just keep running.
We have had more snow this winter than in the last 25 years and the Jeep has been a real trooper.
Finally did a MPG test last weekend on a family road trip. Good mix of highway and city driving.
29MPG US gallons.
I'm pretty pleased with that considering the way I drive.
I do want to get it on a dyno at Malone tuning to see what we can do about the "rolling coal" issue and that should also help increase fuel economy.

Damn good mpg for something with that much usable space and power.

I'm pretty pleased.
It will be interesting to see how the 1.9L TDI does in the 08 JK I just started to convert.

Oh my, turbo diesel JK. Are we talking a standard JK or a JKU?

2008 JKUS
I will start a build thread on the JK Forum and post a link once I get into it a bit further.
I have the new 3.8L adapter designed as well as the motor mounts.
Hope to have the engine in by the end of March.

Well that's awesome, looking forward to it for sure.

If an XJ isn't my next purchase a JKU will be.

Kind of skeptical given the JK's much higher curb weight and wind resistance, but I am very curious all the same!

I have the same concerns but with the amount of power that the XJ has I'm not overly concerned.
I will probably have to regear the JK especially if we go to 35" tires.
Time will tell.

The XJ has been a great DD for the last two years. I'm finally getting around to tidying up some loose ends and the biggest loose end is the "Rolling coal" problem.
I just added an O2 sensor and MAF.
Had to modify the air filter box to take the stock TDI MAF sensor.
It basically bolted into the Ford Ranger airbox that I'm using.
Just need to get a new Malone tune with those sensors enabled.

Pretty much installed into the intake hose the same with a new reducing elbo.

New tune from Malone and the smoke is gone unless you really hammer the throttle so I think its perfect.
Got the JKU on the road and even with a stock tune that little 1.9 pulls the heavy JK around just fine.
The 50lb flywheel sure helps with pulling away from a stop.
Got the power base working on the passenger side WJ seat but the drivers looks like more mods will be needed so I left the stock XJ base under it for now.

I have been fighting a vibration for the last two winters.
Replaced driveshaft Ujoints and even pulled the front shaft for a while.
Nothing helped.
After a long drive last night I was pissed.
Today I pulled the old stock wheels and tires out of the bush and installed.
FIXED!! (looks like crap)
First time in 35 years I have had a perfectly good set of tires vibrate so badly when almost new.
They are 3 years old now but we only drive it 5 months of the year in the winter so really only 1.5 years on them and not many miles since we use my truck for longer trips.
They are 31 X 10.5 Goodyear Duratrac's anyone else have this problem?
I was running them at 32 PSI and dropped them to 28 but no help.
They are really lumpy when rolling up to a stop sign, like cogging.
