I don't quite follow - you're saying the 2000 PCM uses the CMP for the tach signal, not the CKP?
Are you using one of these boxes? http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...cat/cat287.htm Seems a lot cheaper than other solutions, like the COTY Built CAN/CCD box

It does use the crank sensor for the tach signal but the ECM needs some sort of cam signal before it will run the tach.
It does not need to be an accurate cam signal, just something to say the cam is turning.
I have run into this on many other conversions and on some (older) its as simple as a relay that just trips once when the key turns on and then the tach works. On newer vehicles the ECM does need to see some sort of continuous pulse to keep the tach running.
Yes we just did a 3hr family run and its was pretty good. A few small items to fix.
Drivers seat is broken so I think some WJ seats are in my future.
Power windows only work from the drivers panel.
LOTS of black smoke when you stomp on it so I need to look into that. The tune may be a bit too aggressive for my use.
LOTS of power!
Cruises at 60 mph at about 1500RPM in 5th. I found I ran in 4th quite a bit which brought the RPM up to about 2000 which worked better in hilly areas which is most of our area.

It ran nice and cool the whole trip and the electric fans did not come on once.
A pretty good shakedown trip.

Need to tidy up a few loose ends. Weld the drivers seat for now and then look for some nice replacements.
I cant think of anything major left to do. Its the wife's daily driver.
Fixed the power windows today and installed a new stereo.
I think the interesting/fun stuff has all been done.

They are the Rusy's flex flair. It was the only one I could find that did not bolt to the rear doors and look Huge.
One word of caution, they only ship enough of the rubber gasket material to do the job. Don't leave any extra at the ends and think you have enough to trim, you will end up short.
Also the black rivets that they send are too short.
Once you go through the flare and rubber gasket there is not enough left to go through the fender, no mater how hard you push on the end of the rivet gun. I used 1/2-5/8 rivets and they work well. Then a black permanent marker to make them disappear.

I have and I like them very much. But my bank account fainted when it saw the prices. Going to have to search a lot of ditches for beer bottles to afford them.
Dang man, this thing has really come together. I'm on board with those flares too. They have a great profile. Can we expect a video soon? I know we've been hounding you about this one a bit, but what can I say? It's a really cool build.

very cool
