Fantastic fuel mileage and lots of power.
Our 2008 Dakota quad cab got a Cummins ISB170 three years ago and has towed our 5th wheel from coast to coast and put on over 20,000km with minimal problems and good fuel economy.

My shop truck is a 1999 Dakota with basically Isuzu NKR running gear and a three ton dump deck.

Now its time to pass the 93 Grand down to our daughter and I'm building us a new DD.
Starting with a pretty clean 2000 XJ with a 5 speed. It will get a 1.9L VW TDI with some aftermarket goodies. Small lift, wheels and tires. Probably a few other little things as well.

There are some amazing builds on this site and I hope to have input from some of those builders along the way.

Built a throttle mounting bracket today out of 1/8" steel, very sturdy!
The pedal stop is adjustable but hard to see in the pic.

Installed the pedal and wired it.
Pedal ends up just a bit lower than the brake pedal.

Nice. Sounds like it will be perfect for a little heel-toe driving!

ITS ALIVE!!
Just a 30 second test run but it fired up on the 3-4 revolution.
Still a few things to do before a test run (like coolant) but it sounded great.

Made new shifter bushings and have the re-bent shifter installed.

Got most of the interior back in tonight, just waiting on a new trac bar to arrive.
The stock one was going to be too close to the oil pan with moderate suspension travel.
I had Rusty's draw up one but when I asked them to go ahead and build it they said they were too busy to do any custom bars.
We have an awesome shop just down the street http://www.northwestfab.com/ that specializes in off road products so they are building the bar and should have it tomorrow!

Holy crap, this thing FLY'S!!
Going in for a front end alignment tomorrow so I have not put any miles on it yet. But very impressed with the performance.
The only things that don't work at this point are the speedo and tach.
I get that the tach will need a cam signal to get it going but was surprised that the speedo does not work??

Yes I do.
I used the stock coolant and oil senders and that all works well.

Speedo doesn't work? That's weird. Did you cut out any grounds?

I checked and have 5V and ground at the VSS.
On the weekend I'll check to be sure there is continuity to the ECU for the signal wire.

I chose (poorly;>) the wrong wire to pull my 5V from. Now with the correct one I have a working speedo.
The only thing that's not working now is the tach but I'm working on it today.
I'm going to use the crank signal, run it through a Digital Dakota box and see if it will produce the cam signal.

You have to love Digital Dakota.
Used the crank signal into the box and the output ran the cam signal.
Tach now works and since its triggered off the flywheel it's accurate.

Got the shifter finished and it worked out pretty close to stock location from what I can remember.
