Default 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport Project

Well 1 year after buying my XJ with only 87k (I only paid 4,000 for it) I have finally saved enough money to build my dream cherokee! Unlimited Offroad Centers in Fenton Michigan will start the build on June 18th. I will post updated pics as they make progress. So far here's whats going on my cherokee; 4.5" super-flex kit by RE, RE mono-tube shock kit, slip yoke eliminator, BF Goodrich mud terrain KM2 33 x 10.50 mounted on black Soft 8 Cragar rims with full size spare, Bushwacker flat style fender flares, ARB winch bull bar, Smittybilt XRC-8 winch, IPF multi-application 7" rectangular lights, JCR Offroad stage 3 rear bumper with tire carrier, JCR Offroad stage 3 XJ sliders. I think that should get me up and running!

Default Price on flat flares

Yeah they are friggin' sweet and they run cheaper than the other bushwacker flares for the XJ. Right now you can get them for $424.99 plus s&h and you get a $50.00 rebate from bushwacker through Sept. 30th 2010.

Default Bushwacker flat fender flares

2000 XJ, If you go to Bushwackers website there is a detailed install guide with pics and full instructions. I believe you have to trim some sheet metal to install the flat fender flares. I can't wait to get my XJ over to the shop to start the build! The more I read through all the builds here on the forums the more I can't wait to get the project done and get the "Golden Boy" out on the trails!!!

Wow those things are sweet, I can't wait to hear some real world reviews though. I would hate to spend that kind of money and have them break like the others.

Default Like what others?

Hey CJ, What others are you talking about? I talked to my local installer and he's been in the biz for over 18 years and never had any problems with anything bushwacker has put out into the market.

Not usually a fan of Turkey Turd Green jeeps, but with those flares, and that bumper!? I would drive it!

The original style flares tend to break easily when in contact with anything really (trees/rocks/muddy walls/etc). Granted that should be expected but I would hope for alittle flexibility.

$425 for plastic???? you might want to do a search and see all the bad issues people have had with bushwacker flares cracking and breaking on the trail. unless this is a pavement princess I wouldn't touch the BW flares. to fragile
