If the flare doesn't break first (which it probably would) when you hit something with it it will cave in the fender. I would get these instead and save some green. I have these on my jeep and have rubbed several trees and no damage what so ever.

Default Fender Flares

Guys guys guys! Take it easy on a newbie! I will check all your recommendations out. But first, These Bushwacker flat flares for the XJ just got released this week and my order was the 3rd that they have ever sold so lets wait awhile to see how they preform. I would like to think I have some sort of smarts and good taste too! I really like the way these flares look and they also give me room to grow for tire size. I will most likely upgrade in the future to a long arm lift and larger tires (37"). I do like the looks of the Iceland Offroad flares though. Anybody have much info on their product? As far as my project goes, all the parts got ordered today and when my guys get back from jeep jamboree at drummond island this weekend they will get jammin on my build. I will post pics as they make progress.

Default Updates

Hey Justin, I just got the lift, SYE, bumpers, and tires and rims ordered today. My installers are heading up to jeep jamboree for the weekend as we speak. I think most of the parts should be in by the first of the week and I will start to see the transformation by next weekend. I will be at the shop watching and running for parts and taking pics all week so pics will be updated asap. I'm like a friggin' little kid at x-mas! I can't wait to get my XJ out onto the trails and into some mud holes! I take very good care of all my cars and trucks but by NO Means will this XJ be a pavement princess!!! I will be upgrading the sound system this weekend so if you hear some cranking *** heavy metal coming from mid-michigan it's only me!!!!! RIP Ronnie James Dio.

Default Costs vs time

Hey guys, I'm not the most handy dude with the tool set and this is going to be a learning experience that I will can use towards my next build. I don't have time this summer to take on a build even with help from a few buds. I'm sure once I start wheelin' I will meet a bunch of fellow XJ owners that will help me in times of need! The guys doing the build are awesome and are giving me killer pricing for this build. I had a budget of $6,500.00 but will only need about $5,000.00 to get me close. I will post pics as they make progress.

Default Update on the build

Well I was waiting for parts to arrive (shipping on the lift was running behind 1 week) So I decided to upgrade my sound system! 810 Motoring in Flint MI hooked me up with a killer system. I started with a Kenwood KDC-MP445U CD-receiver with a USB interface which will work with iPods and iPhone also Bluetooth ready. I had a factory 6-disc changer already installed, I went with 4- 6 1/2" XP PowerAcoustic speakers 1- 10" P2 PowerAcoustic Subwoofer mounted in a ported box and to power the whole system I went with a Soundstream Picasso series px5.580 5-channel class A/B 580 watt amplifier. I'm a old metalhead from way back and it was awesome jamming out to classic metal louder than hell! This system ROCKS! My ears ring for hours after every little trip I take! If anyone from Mid-Michigan is looking for a new sound system you should check these guys out! Great service and killer prices! I will be dropping the Cherokee off on Thursday afternoon out to Unlimited Off-Road in Fenton, MI. to get the build started. I will post some pics after I drop it off and updated pics as they make progress. If all goes well I will have it back for the weekend of the 4th of July!
