Just a little sneak peek of what's to come. I got the intake and throttle body all painted up and new injectors in. Still waiting on the motor to get back from the shop.
Nice work so far. Pay attention to the details and will come together nicely. Building engines is not really difficult but there are "rules" to follow to insure a good build that will last. Good to see you are cleaning everything. When you think about rebuilding and engine, it is really no more then a deep clean.
Just a little update. The long wait is finally over. I picked up the engine from the shop yesterday. Like all other supply chains at the moment, some parts were either back ordered or hard to find quickly. But, I couldn't be happier with the motor. I think the wait will be worth it. It's bored 0.30 over and has an erson cam. Nothing too crazy on the cam, just slightly larger than stock. Now time to re-assemble everything and put it back in. I'm excited to see what she looks like with all the freshly painted/new parts on.
I know this is a very old post however, I thought I might share my story. Rebuilt a Big Block chevy and fired it up out of the vehicle on a stand. Motor Ran great, got the timing adjusted so on and so forth. Dropped the motor in the vehicle only ti find out about 3000 miles later there was no compression in a cylinder. Take the motor out to find a blasted a hole through the lifter and whipped out a brand new cam
And, she's in. This was the first time I've put an engine in by myself. I bought one of those spreader bars that you can crank to angle the back of the engine down. That was the key, since the I6s sit tilted down in the back a little. Now to hook everything back up
Just thought I'd give an update. She is all back together and up and running. When I went to do the initial startup I wasn't getting any spark at all. Replaced the crank sensor and she fired right up. Man it runs good! Broke it in as per the instructions of the engine builder. I took a quick spin up the road about a mile or so with no issues. Time to get it buttoned the rest of the way up and finally enjoy it. That was a long few months and a ton of work but I am absolutely ecstatic to have my jeep running and usable again
Just a last parting shot on this build. With about an hour of flawless run time I think I have it nailed. Thanks to all those who had words of advice, and supportive comments. I have alot of things planned for this jeep, so this won't be the last time you see it on the build page. But for now, it's time to put some miles on and enjoy
