A swap or a rebuild? We swapped in a new (older style) 258 cam with the longer duration after we ported out .30 with dished pistons to net our stroker. This is on a 99 long block. We had been using a hesco head. But we had an exhaust manifold problem so to be safe we went back to the original steel head. Going to swap the hesco back in some time this summer.

Search the forum for that. And find a good machine shop. I have to admit, I have a guy who owns a machine shop who's into race engines and jeeps. He did all the engine work. I just assembled the two halves. Lol. And the jeep was out of commission for about two months. I was hoping to find a doner engine, but cost jumped in. Without the hesco head, total cost was about 1500.
