For the interior side of the build, Mr. Crutchfield quick shipped me some presents today. Entry level Pioneers for the front and rear (anything is better than stock in these boxes) but spent the bucks to get the full Bluetooth streaming audio Sony deck. Have one of these in my (ex) Civic and love the convenience of no wires, auto connection audio.

Now my only issue is that I've got a short in the front passenger wire and the driver side is completely cut. Time to start searching for wiring schematics.

After lusting over a couple of the Lund Visor setups I've seen on other builds here (notably the Zombie Olive one, credit where it's due) I went looking on eBay just for ****s and giggles annnnnd ended up pulling the trigger on this baby.
The now discontinued Lund Moonvisor for Cherokee and it is the correct P/N for the XJ and not the MJ since it turns out there IS a difference. Just need to get it painted up black once it arrives and its going on!

I think it's just a matter of the position in a hinged part of the door and getting fairly regular stress from opening and closing. Also, the tube that runs other electrical components from the door back into the engine compartment was cracked open in both sides of my XJ...looks like some water and other debris can get in there pretty easily over time. Good luck!

Well, positive thinking hasn't got me far on the issue of my Warrior Product winch bumper and the holdup from them and 4WheelParts. I'm just shy of two months since ordering this thing on their Independence Day special and dropping $1,200 between the bumper, winch, synth rope, winch cover and shackles. The last word from 4WP was several weeks ago when they told me it'd be, you guessed it, "a couple more weeks..."
So, ironically, my mechanic called me and said he had to make space in his garage and I'd need to come pick-up the Smittybilt XRC-8, Lund visor and other parts that I've had sitting in his shop waiting for the bumper so I can do it all at once. Can't blame him after holding the stuff for 6 weeks now, but I used the opportunity to take a couple gear **** shots, enjoy:

Wow, someone at 4 Wheel Part's ears must have been burning (and not in a good way) because I just got this email. Couple more weeks, huh? Surprise, surprise.
"We are still waiting to get that item in from Warrior. I just called to check on the status of that item for you. I have been advised that the product is in production right now. They are 2/3 wks out before they will be completed and shipping out the door to our warehouse. As soon as we get that item in we will fill your order and ship out the door to you ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience and delay."

Did it say it was in stock on their website when you ordered it? if it did I would be getting gift card after gift card after gift card because thats their mess up. Also call Warrior and give them an ear full too...cause almost 2 months is CRAZY! best of luck and the XJ looks great man keep it up.

The cars is nice and all, but to say I'm frustrated would be an understatement. The latest I heard just today was that the bumper is in powder coating and should ship by end of the week.
Thanks on the comments - if I can get this damn bumper and winch on it will really take off!

After more than two months, my Warrior Products winch bumper and brush guard FINALLY shipped from 4WheelParts.com.
I am not the least bit happy about how long this took or the overall experience with Warrior Products, 4WP or either company's customer service...BUT the important thing is my freaking bumper is on its way and we can get the 2nd stage of this build rolling!

Just got back from work travel all weekend and Monday - gonna finish installing the bumper and winch on tonight over at my buddy's garage. Pics to come of the finished product!

Oh man, everything is on and installed like a breeze - only issues were moving back the steering box and trimming some side fender. I'm biased but I think it came out looking like a ****ing boss:

Couple more shots and put the shackles in - planning to test it all out this weekend on some Forestry Service roads out in the Smokies. More pics to come.
