2000 Cherokee XJ build, 2wd to 4wd conversion
Welli figured i would post up my build, not done a jeep build is never done.
well for starts i have a 2000 Cherokee Classic, and its my second cherokee i have owned. i bought this one a few days after i got back from being stationed in Japan.
so my main reason for doing this build is cuz i was short on time when i got back from japan. ended up over looking that it did not have 4wd.... dont ask lol. the jeep was in great shape inside and out. little after i paid him i seen it was not 4wd. that was a kick in the nuts for me. but the great part is im a mech so it not hard to swap. im just trying to find all the parts i need for a good price if not free. with baby number 3 wife tends to spend the money on baby stuff, plus just bought the wife 2011 dodge journey. i can find everything around $600, but if i can find it cheaper that would be great.
heres a picture the day i got her
heres a picture before the lift
I started with the front end.
not to many pictures but got some.
picture here is us installing the RC controlarm drop downs.
here is a picture after the coils/spacers and shocks were installed. i dont understand why ppl use coil compresser just use a prybar. dont get in the way of the spring hahaha. i know its a safeway.
Heres a picture after the front was done.
this is how it looks now, i finally come home from Afghan in the next 10 days. so i can finally get back on convertion this thing to a 4wd.
more pitures to come when i get home. thanks for looking

new jeep for the build
here is the new jeep i got for the build. the jeep is in great shape. almost want to swap everything over from the silver jeep to the red jeep. picked this up for $600, the only thing the kid said was wrong with it was the starter and needs a battery. thats very easy to replace.

Stick with the silver.
Sometimes I follow a silver XJ home and the guy drives really slow. I usually just stay behind him and wish I had a silver XJ.

haha yea, the silver has less dents in it. i think also to i want to stick with the silver is cuz it has the 8.25 in it. the red one has the 35 in it.
