Ya got a lot of awesome stuff going on there man! Question for you: how many lengths of led strips did you have to use? You probably said somewhere but you got so much info and pictures on this thread I got lost

Hmm.... I think I have 8 strips that are one foot each.
- One in each wheel well (4)
- One down each side, cut at the marks and lengthened to disperse light more. (2)
- One on the top and bottom of the inside of the grill, cut in the 3 length sections. (2)
So yeah, I have 4 full unaltered lengths and then 4 lengths that I split into the 3 sections. I do need to get more though... The strip I modded down my passenger side messed up and ended up ripping one of the strips so I can't just re-solder them; plus I wanna add some to get more light in the back, front, and light up the grill more. The grill is pretty much just for looks, but the other lights I actually use off road at night to help see on the ground.... But it looks cool to ride around at night with them on also.

I've had them for well over a year.

Here are the pictures of my LED strips in the wheel wells.

Wiring to the driver rear wheel well, same on the passenger side. (if you still have flares, just zip tie the wires to the bolts for the flare mounting bracket... That's how mine was before the cut-n-fold.)
Will probably, eventually, just drill a hole by the LED strip and run it in the cab and seal the hole.

Here's a copy from my Cowl Hood thread. From 2-26-2014... just forgot to post it when I updated the Other thread.
Here are some pictures out in the sunlight.

I like how it ended up being about as wide as the brush guard... I didn't plan that at all, but it make a good body line.

The inscription at an angle you can kinda see the Moss Green Pearl and also straight on.

Alright, well, not much as happened since my last update (Not counting the Cowl Hood post I did not 6 hours ago) but I did do some things and am getting ready to do a pretty big upgread.
First thing is that I had 5 extra T10 Green LEDs from my cab lights and I decided I wanted to do something with them... or at least some. I took one and put it on my stock licences plate mount... Just cause and the stock one was burnt out.
The LED in the socket (almost didn't fit, too long)

Lit up at night.

Also here are some pictures of the "Ice Storm" of early March... Got 2 days out of Classes because of it... then the next week was Spring break, so it was kinda nice. It was defiantly fun to have snow/ice after a couple of years without having it and it stick... plus it was fun to drive the XJ through it.

Now onto the big upgrade.

Yup, ZJ disk breaks. Got the parts Saturday from Pull-A-Part.
Just a couple of reference pictures for me.

First thing I did when I got back home was clean and paint the calipers. The calipers are in really good shape (other than one piston boot being torn, but it's not leaking and I'll probably just get a rebuild kit.) The slides and boots are new and free.

Here are all the parts I got.

Rotors and like new Pads. One rotor is great, the other I got from another ZJ since the other one was grooved on the back and this one is more worn, but still in spec.

Calipers, old bleeder screws, and soft lines.

Got new bleeder screws one got rounded off and I had to hammer a 5/16" 12 point socket on it to get it off.
Old ones. Left is the good one, as you can see the right one is chewed up.

New bleeder screws

All parking brake hardware: two top springs, two bottom springs, two adjusters, 4 retainers, and 4 retainer pins.

ZJ proportioning valve innards.

New ZJ studs... since they are cheap but also because all the junkyard ones where really bad.

New parking brake shoes since all the one we saw had no friction material.

The backing plates and dust shields. Didn't paint them since they have little to no rust. But if I do end up painting them, they'll be black.
Backing plate studs.

Banjo bolts and soft lines.

Still have to get the cable clamps for the E brake and 3 more studs. And possibly a rebuild kit for the caliper (though it's not leaking) and maybe axle seals. Hope to do it this weekend.

i decided to get some 3/8 grade 8 bolts of those zj backing plate studs just for peace of mind.
helpful hint: use a die grinder to open up the centers. goes way faster than a dremel. i blew my dremel up trying to grind it out

That's the thing though, mine will be mostly city/stop and go type traffic. I get a just under 17 MPG with the 31s now, and that's because of the stop and go (the Grabbers are heavy tires for 31s (55.1 lbs), 33s would be even more (even with me not getting Grabbers next)) if it was all highway I'd get 20 or so (going by my instant MPG). So I know 33s would drop me (like I said) back down to around 12-13) since any 33 I get would be 3 ply sidewalls like the MTZ & Grabbers. I'll never go back to just 2 ply sidewalls (unless money is tight), they flex too much for my liking after comparing my 31 Grabbers to my friends 31 Duratracs and also his new 33 Duratracs flex compared to 33 MTZs I've seen.
Anyway, I don't know. I still want to have gears before 33 just for the fact there are more things I want to do before I get 33 other then just gears. (HP30 and eventually RCV shafts or early 90s grand wagoneer 44 if I can find one)
Anyway, I went to Sugar Creek Saturday to ride four wheelers and while I was there I decided to just have a little fun and crawl on top of and park on a concrete slab. Didn't go all the way on it because the blocks were moving and I didn't feel like banging my 8.25 pinion on the slab when the blocks slip out from under the rear tires.
On top with my rear tires on the block

Backed down off the blocks and parked it.

Thanks and no they don't. They stopped when DC stopped making the DC-1's. There where a few other companies that made them but I think they all stopped. If you find a machine shop they could make you some though using the rimes as a templet and probably make any design in them... I don't know how much they'll charge though.
