Stylin Trucks
No ****! I used to order stuff from Stylin' all the time back when I had my S10, my Dakota, and my Camaro.
If that's a HF vise, I'm not surprised. Brendan and I GRENADED a brand new HF vise when trying to do his ujoints. The casting literally crumbled like it was made of gingerbread.

I spent 10 years at Stylin' Trucks. Then we were purchased by JC Whitney, then by US Autoparts, and they let us all go. I've been trying to get back into another automotive-type company ever since. I was at a small 4x4 startup for the last year, but they just shut down their website.
The Stylin' Trucks website pretty much sits unused at this point. The most recent article/blog post is from 2011, written by me. http://www.stylintrucks.com/gallery.aspx

Extractor? Hardly knew her...
I don't know. I haven't used an extractor before. It may or may not work. There aren't any threads on the thing, it's just smooth bolt shaft, seized inside the knuckle. I tried pressing it out (broke my vice), and punching it out with a BFH and a punch.

No, I don't lick fish.
Nice! I sold so many S10 lowering block and spring kits!

JC Whitney's pretty cool, but they may as well be a PepBoys crossed with a Sears Robuck. They have some decent accessories and the typical big-box additions to your truck or vehicle (bras, tonneaus, nerf bars) but if you wanted serious suspension mods and exterior mods, ST was the place to go to.

Yeah, JC Whitney was known for the old school, kitchy stuff. Like the Aoooogah! Horn.
I shot this at their 2010 car show.

Replacement Knuckle Time.
I stopped off at my local Bedford Auto Wrecking again, this time to purchase a passenger side steering knuckle. It was still on the donor Jeep. They're removing it for me, and I will go pick it up today.

Donor steering knuckle received!
I got the "new" steering knuckle from the local place, $65. I also bought some rust paint for the knuckles. Now I can continue the project.
Next steps:
order new hubs, both
wire brush/paint knuckles
install ball joints
install new axle u-joint, driver side
finally buy some Wrangler wheels/tires
buy wheel adapters
On the job front, still hunting. I sent my resume off to one of the big truck accessory retailers, maybe the biggest retailer? They are headquartered in ND, which is a LOOOONG way from Cleveland. But, my Grandmother was actually born in North Dakota, in the next town over from this company. So in a way, I'm already from there.

BTW - this place is fascinating.
These guys are currently doing R&D on the Pontiac G8, and trying to eliminate drone from the 5.0 Mustang. Very cool.
