Would it be smart to try and get it welded? or are clamps ok?

I would prefer it to be welded if it was mine. Less prone to leaking and overall much cleaner. I have a clamp on mine at the downpipe and cat then it's welded all the way to the turndown before the axle.

So, my parents ended up giving me money for my birthday, instead of a gift. So I can now pick what I want to get. I was thinking of getting the Putco H$ harness upgrade, and foglights. I really like amber fog lights, and the idea of keeping the front end of the XJ square looking by getting square lights. Should I stick with that, or get the round ones?

I am buying Eagle Eye brand as my dad and I have used them on 2 previous 4x4 vehicles we had, and they were amazing.

So yesterday I ordered the Putco H4 wiring harness and the Eagle Eye Lights Amber Rectangular Fog Lights. I received the harness today. Will be installing this weekend!
