Quote: I hate, and I mean with a passion - HATE, TJ flairs on an XJ.

Also, that XJ looks stoopid. Needs more shocks. That is all.
+1 on the TJ flares looking stupid. People always recommend them on here and I think they just look dumb. They don't integrate well at all, and they're just not meant to be on cherokees.

Quote: My question is, what am I missing that makes mine ok and what the OP was going to do not (aside from materials and assembly, I'm talking about design, geometry, etc) or is there an issue with mine too?

Not trying to steal the thread, but I thought it was more suitable here then its own thread as it is comparing what he had laid out to a commercial product and continuing the discussion of what was previously discussed.
First off the IRO system has that cam adjustment on the drivers side for adjusting the pinion & caster angle. It seems the previous owner also added a 4th arm to the passenger side lower link, and from what I can sorta make out in the picture, it's slotted to allow the movement controlled by the drivers side bracket. The IRO links also have a JJ at the crossmember end to allow the links to rotate with the axle. Your factory lower mounts will hit if you were lower. Mine is at 4.5" and previously hit the lower mounts when flexing. Hell, so do the RC long arms.

I can't comment for larger lifts but my IRO system has not shown any issues on 32's and good trail use for over 2 years now.

Sorry to thread jack.

Quote: I'm beginning to question your sanity.

What's wrong with a 3 link?

You seem to have the same mentality as most Floridians. "Mud trucks should be built with less quality than any other truck"... "Because it's just a mud truck"

Why the hell would he run leaf springs in the front of Cherokee that already has coil springs? I know people have done it, many times, but WHY?

OP, make up your mind already! You are confusing the crap out of me. One second I think you're going to do it right then the next you're talking about mounting the axle with tooth picks.

You plan to build an entire suspension in one night? I'm certainly interested in the pictures.

Please take pride in your work and do it correctly.

I may not like you but I don't want you to die.

how exactly is that the mentality of "most floridians", as if somehow people in FL dont know what they are doing and build lower quality rigs as other superior states........

Shall I rephrase?

Most Floridians that make the effort to make a build thread don't know what the hell they're doing.

The mentality of "Most Floridians" is to slap 40"s of lift on something and stick huge tires on it with some angle iron bolted to the bottom of it. Then drive through some mud.

I'm not saying there aren't people who know what they're doing. They're just few and far between. That goes for every state... They just seem to populate Florida quite a bit more.

I'm sure you have a very well built, capable offroad vehicle.

What's my opinion matter anyhow? I speak my mind.

For instance, I don't agree with your choice of materials on your rear links.

They may still be in one piece but it's certainly not what I would have used.

busiest build thread EVER! lol

P.S. People suck and fail at life all over the word, not in one single location. very broad statement...

I Am not a "fan" of "mud" trucks, But I am excited to see where this one goes.

As for the drive-line question I would use the double cardan joint it already has stock int he front, will it not handle the angle as it sits?
